Battlefront 2 random crashing during gameplay

I have for the longest time played this game on xbox and loved it, and since it was on sale I bought it on steam so I can play online as I didn't have xbox live due to being broke. I have owned this game for barely 3 days at most and have experienced non-stop crashing during gameplay. If I'm lucky I can get through a single galactic assault. If I'm lucky. It usually crashes a minute or so into a match but sometimes earlier. I have tried changing things in the files as an old post said. I tried deleting a variable that yet another post said. I have no idea why this is happening, the only thing I can think of is that I'm using intel graphics and don't have nvidia or anything. Anyways here are some other things happening that, while not necessarily important, might be related to the problem and can help diagnose it as well as a detail or two related to the crash.

-loading screen image is slightly squished upwards with a black bar along the bottom of the screen

-slight visual glitches during crate opening and once during a game there were minor glitches with the kashyyyk map

-every time I load the game I am automatically disconnected from the servers and have to manually reconnect

-no crash message, I am booted back to the desktop and both the game and EA shut down when the crashes occur without any response or message from either

-no noticeable trigger, circumstances were different for almost every crash whether it be faction, timeline, or actions taking place at the moment of the crash

I cannot figure out what to do here. I don't want to go through all the graphics driver stuff as I am in way over my head with that and don't know if I'll have to get additional hardware to run the necessary graphics driver. I can live with the inconveniences listed above, but this crashing is on my last nerves. I love this game on xbox, I just want to be able to play it online with a proper keyboard and mouse. Please help if you can.
