I first tried to setting DX12 ON, and then started getting the freezes, and then had to edit the "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings\BootOptions"-file to get DX12 off, but it keeps automatically turning back on, lol. Now I have my notepad++ on watching the file and pops up whenever the file is modified.

i didnt take the chances and deleted the settings folder entirely but then my lockup wasnt this error it was bluescreen on trying to use dx 12 on
i googled for the error and toms hardware site has a possible fixe for the DCOM error - but it involves using regedit to delete 4 keys which forces DCOM on boot to write default perms for the system. which is why i did not post the link here, to discourage people from going to regedit as a first try at fixing. i found it by google 10016 DistributedCOM
since idk what windows or other os you are using was another reason i didnt want to post either the direct link, or the actual steps here.
