Battlefront II won’t launch on Xbox One

I bought this game for my son today. We waited for it to install all day and now when he tries to launch it, he gets a black screen and then it goes back to the Xbox home screen.

It’s an Xbox One S. Brand new game and console. Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks for your reply. I decided to give it one more try: removed player data, removed game, logged out profile, reboot console, logged back in, reinstall the game and didn;t touch anythng till the game was fully installed.. and.... it worked! 🙂

    Same issue. Reset console, reinstalled, cleared save games etc. Changed networks, cleaned disk. Every other game works great.

    Loading a game should NEVER crash like this.

    Having this problem as well have done all the suggested troubleshoot methods nothing works. I could play yesterday before the new update and even them i would still crash before or after every match. Today i cant even play at all, i feel robbed.

    I was finally able to get this working.

    1. Delete SWBF2
    2. Reset console leaving apps
    3. Clear saves, 4GB app file
    4. Reboot
    5. Reinstall and touch nothing.

    For those of you that can't get it to load, you are going to be horrified to see what happened. You lost rank levels on many if not all of your collections (Classes, ships, etc). Some people lost their total rank progress too. It's really bad this time.

    How do we do that? I bought the Xbox for my little brother only recently and this is the only game that won’t launch. It goes to a display screen and then just reverts back to the Xbox home screen

    Hi there, I’ve had exactly the same problem for a week now. I’ve tried all the solutions and still nothing, just goes back to the Xbox screen. I literally bought the Xbox to play this game! It’s the only game I have, please fix this issue

    Having the same issue here. I have it installed on an Xbox One and on my Xbox One X.

    Today it stopped working on the X but still works on the basic XBone.

    No updates available on either machine. Really annoyed, this has clearly been an issue for a while seeing as this thread goes back a few months and what from EA? Nothing, they got their money, why would they bother fixing YET ANOTHER GAME they've released with a multitude of bugs.

    Unimpressed is an understatement.
