battlefront issue

I downloaded battlefront 2 through steam. I then linked my PlayStation account on which i already have a copy of battlefront, and the game would not open and on the ea app it shows that I don't have any items in my library. I tried to link my steam account, as on the ea site it said there wasnt an account linked. it then said there was an account already linked, but i have never signed into ea before today. any help on just being able to play the game that i spent money on would be great.
