Will we be able to have the sane data with emperor palpatine when he comes back or will we have to restart

That's highly unlikely for the progress to be removed since Palpatine was only temporarily removed from SWB2 due to some game-breaking bugs.
But I will double-check with our team. We will probably know more when we get any solid dates about his return.
