BF2 Constantly Crashing to Desktop

This has been happening to me for a couple of months now and even more frequently as of late. I tried doing multiple things that I've seen others suggest before in the forums, but none of them have worked.

Things I've tried:

  • Clearing Origin Cache
  • Clearing Shader Cache
  • Repairing game files
  • Reinstalling the Game
  • Deleting the "Battlefront 2" folder in "My documents"
  • Changing from Borderless to Fullscreen
  • Switching to DX11/12 (Both didn't work)
  • Changing Graphics settings
  • Updated Drivers
  • Disabled any in game overlays
  • Setting all of my overclocked components to their default values. Made no change

No matter what I seem to do, the game just crashes eventually. Sometimes it will crash after 10 minutes, and sometimes it will crash after 25 or 30. It's completely random and I have no idea what it is that's causing it. I never used to have this issue a few years ago, but I just started playing again for the past few months and it keeps on happening. I just want to be able to play the game because it's a ton of fun, but this issue is really starting to get on my nerves. This doesn't happen with any other game, I even remember playing other Frosbite games like Anthem last year (RIP), and lately I've been playing a lot of Battlefield V. Both of those games run perfectly fine, this is the only game where I've had this problem.

My PC Specs:

  • Gigabyte RTX 2080
  • AMD R7 2700x
  • 16 GB DDR4 RAM @3200mhz

Game is installed on a separate hard drive from my OS because my SSD doesn't have enough space.

  • @EA_AticI'm no longer able to reproduce the crash, and thus am not able to test if it happens with MSI Afterburner not running. I'm not certain why. I've only made the following changes since I posted here:

    • Removed a 500 GB hard drive to install in an external enclosure, and added a 1 TB hard drive that was in the enclosure in place of the 500 GB drive.
    • Replaced a faulty ethernet cable that was causing network/Internet stability issues.

The system was rebooted several times during the course of the above changes, and while attempting to establish what was causing network/Internet stability issues. I don't think I rebooted the system when still experiencing the crashes, so I suspect this is the most likely reason for why the crashes have ceased.

Note: I did update to the GeForce driver version 442.19, however I did this right after my earlier post. I tested the game after updating the driver, and was still experiencing the crashes at that time.

    Hello.

I Was not played the game for 6 months approximately. Today joined origin and downloaded latest update. So and now i cant join quick match or load up a campaign. After the bar Loading Shaders comes other screen and game crashes.

I've tried to Verify game files but still crashes every time I am trying to join.

    @VillaiNousSs- Ok.
Now everything works. It seems that all you need to do is to delete document folder for battlefrond II. I joined after not changing settings and game begin to work. Now changed settings to my preference and everything still works!

I'm experiencing the same problem since around two weeks on PC. The game constantly crashes back to desktop after a random period of time without any error.

This occurs in MP as well as in SP.

I have no idea how to fix it and already tried all the recommended steps. The game sometimes even crashes in the main menu...

    My PC specs are:

    - Nvidia GeForce GTX 770

    - Intel Core i7 8700

    - 16 GB DDR4 RAM 2400MHz
