There are so many forum threads about this 3 second black screen ☹️
I bought the game 3 days ago, and I've spent 10 hours trying to fix it - but I haven't gotten past the 3 second black screen either.

How do you launch the game on dx11 when running windows 7?
We don't have the BootOptions file under: -> %USERNAME%\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings
And we can't get into the game to change any settings ingame...
I'm really sad to hear that you guys believe this was fixed on the 19th. That means you aren't working on a solution for this. This is not the only forum post with the black screen issue. We are so many people unable to play...
I assure you that it's NOT: Driver updates, PC requirements, Reinstalling the game, Reinstalling Origin, Running Origin/BF2 in admin mode, moving the game to desktop, updating game again, repairing game, deleting exe files + repair, and so on. .. so please don't even ask about thoes. ☹️

Correct, this was caused by an update and hotfixed on our side. Due to the holiday season I'm not able to get you an immediate answer on whether or not this is still being looked into as an ongoing issue, but if this is still occurring after installing all available updates (Changing back to DX11 was only if you had modified the INI file as a workaround) it's already been flagged for investigation.
how do i launch in dx11? my BF2 folder in documents has no setting folder.
