Block is completely broken anyway. Blocks like you said when it shouldn't and of course when block should work (facing someone) it usually doesn't. The whole system needs a rework
Anything that isn't blaster fire, normal saber attack, or unblockable (e.g. Passionate Strike, Dash Attack) can be blocked from behind since launch.
Which makes sense to assume it's a feature, not a BUG.
However DICE suddenly decides to take out 'features' that have been in the game for a very long time or since launch labeling them BUGs (e.g. Kylo's Pull damage bypassing block, Rey's Dash Strike damage bypassing block, Grievous's Claw Rush damage bypassing block). Yoda's Dash Attack bypassing block being removed like this caused such a mess in the community that they decided to give it back.
Anyway, I feel this issue is a matter of opinion, and not a proper BUG. And IMO I think the game is better with all of these being blockable from all sides.
If we change it so everything can only be blocked from the front, many imbalnces will arise. Vader will become much more powerful, but Palpatine will skyrocket as everything he has can be blocked from all sides now (except Dark Aura). All of his lightnings will hit much more then before, and this is a character that doesn't need any more buffs.
Block is 1 of the most unreliable things in the game right now and I know personally of a few that have stopped playing heroes v villains because of it. Doesn't matter if certain abiltites aren't blockable and some are, the fact is the block itself is unreliable and it ruins the gameplay. A block should mean block(unless out of stamina), isn't that the whole point of it? If you're new to the game, how are you even supposed to know what abilities can be blocked and which can't? That along with saber lock/stagger, abilities not working or being overridden by other abilities, hit detection useless at times along with other issues is why saber combat is pretty poor most the times. I'm very interested in seeing the complaints for the saber only weekend event for heroes v villains in a couple of weeks....
