thanks i did consider that but i was worried about permanent damage to my windows 10 installation if it bluescreened again. i would mark your post as accepted solution but its not solving the dx 12 issue. when it can do this to any customers pc or laptop, and unless they have techie know how like us, the game will have to be deleted and redownloaded in order to be playable again, - and they may not realise its the dx 12 setting causing it and repeat the error.
with something that buggy its my opinion it should be disabled in a htfix patch, particularly if they dont plan to work on implementation fully, which im guessing from the info on the setting they dont plan on at least with this game.
