Bots in MP

I heard there are bots in MP gameplay such as supremacy. My question is, how do you know if a player is a bot or a real person?

  • @itsok38There are quite some indicators that tell you that someone is a bot.

    1. They have default skins.

    2. They have no class icon at their name tag and only use default assault class weapons and no gadgets.

    3. They have faction specific names, like clones being called e.g. CT-1224, droids RO-746, stormtroopers TK-23445 and rebels have some first and last names like real persons but SW names of course.

    4. They have only 50 HP (or was it 75??) so their HP bar looks different than that of a human player.

    5. They often just walk and don't run.

    6. They essentially never go full auto on you for longer than a few shots (even on close range) and then use a combat roll. So a single bot usually won't inflict any serious damage on you, so no need to worry about them.

    7. They have that typical AI behaviour, like never seeking any cover, being oblivious to targets nearby or just standing aimlessly at objectives or at some other places where they don't belong.

Mind though that some of these points are specific to supremacy!

Bots in Co-op mode spawn with all 4 different classes, have full HP like human players and even use gadgets.

Also their firing behaviour feels usually more deadly than of their counterparts in supremacy.

In summary: Don't worry about the bots, you'll learn how to identify them really fast. Bots are cannon fodder in this mode and only serve to enhance the atmosphere of the classic SW battlefields. Also killing them counts for achievements and weapon unlocks.

They're only a major annoyance when playing as tank (big target) and they keep shooting at you from the other side of the map which interrupts your tanks' HP regeneration.

  • Thank you for your answer.

I feel like the bots do ruin a lot of the capital supremacy gameplay. I've noticed that it's very easy while in the ground to cap the objective closer to the enemy spawn or simply rush right up to their spawn and kill the weaker troops that are spawning at "default" over and over again. Of course some of these (or most) are going to be bots.

I have a lot of recording of my gameplay and watched a few games and noticed that this strategy pretty much had me killing a lot of the bots (over 50% of kills). Sadly, this strategy easily puts you to the top of the scoreboard usually first in score or second with generally the highest kills...

I ran 4 games last night! First two games were highest eliminations and highest score.  The third game had modest results. The fourth game I ended in second place with second highest elimination. In these games I simply exploited bots in enemy spawn point and used hero in the invasion phase.

I can easily get highest eliminations in over half the games by executing this "strategy" - which I can't say I'm too proud of.  I think bots are ok offline, coop, or player VS AI only scenarios. However, I can't disagree more with the decision to mix them into MP with other humans. I feel like this is completely game breaking.

  • @itsok38Hm, I don't think that you need to feel bad for it. This is not a competitivie game anyways and the only thing that determines how high you get in rankings is how much damage you dealt combined with objective points + assists of both. Same for HvH, one can get 1st place even when playing for the losing team and without making much kills if he just deals much damage.

You can go ahead grinding bots to get weapon unlocks or much BP. Or maybe focus more on objectives so that your high score represents your team contribution more accurately 😉

And yes, if you see a flood of opponents conveniently approaching from the enemy spawn out in the open, these are most likely all bots.

I normally don't bother to kill them because for me it feels like a waste of time and resources my team needs somewhere else.

Well, except there's a lot of them and I want to have the pleasant sight of Anakin killing all of them in one second lol.

Same when playing as Maul, due to their low HP pool I can just OHK them with his base abilities as one would expect if it was a singleplayer game with "realistic" saber damage.

Looks really satisfying and is also good to regenerate lost base HP for heroes.
