Can’t receive party invites

My last accepted party invited on my end was 3 hours ago. My husband and I have been trying for the last 2 1/2 hours to invite each other to matches so we can play together. There are no notifications that pop up in the PS4 menu. Normally I get the notification on my phone before my console. 

We can join each others matches but not add each other to our party. Not sure what’s going on but it’s extremely frustrating since the only reason I play, is to play with him. When I’m Bossk and he’s Anakin it causes... a rift hehe.
