[PC] Can't even manage to launch the game at all, stuck on the loading screen and bounce back to destop. Reinstalled, yet still the same issue. Its been 3 days now.

  • I have this same issue since the last update - though after playing around I've managed to get to the main menu by changing the scaling in the nvidia control panel to "No Scaling" (as suggested in previous fixes) but now crashes when I try to play any mode.
  • I can't even get to the menu. i wonder is it just hardware issue or just the update messed up the game at some point? Repair or reinstalled didn't fix anything. You were still able to get to the menu but unable to play any mode ?

Try …. look for the documents file in your Star Wars Battlefront 2 directory ….for some folks this is located on your C drive

    1) make a copy/backup of the BootOptions file (in case things go wrong and you can restore it later)

    2) Delete the BootOptions file

    3) Reboot and reload SWBF2

It might work for you as it did for some others.

There appear to be many, many variants on the PC front.

    Good Luck 🙂

  • Same here.

Tried to start the game after reinstalling, get to optimizing shaders and crashes to desktop without any error messages...

    Nothing in event viewer too.

Have done the nvidia thing with shader cache off, restart pc and still does not work!!

  • I had the same problem, it's a problem with the shadows quality set to PCSS or HFTS that causes game to crash while trying to load.

You can fix it by deleting the STAR WARS Battlefront II folder that is in your documents folder and then start origin and right click on game and select repair. This should change your settings to default settings where the shadows quality is turned down.

If you have NVIDIA Geforce experience you can simply just turn down the shadow quality settings through there.

    Hope this helps.

  • Same problem for me.  I've done repair, I've done a full reinstall, nothing has helped. Ever since they released Count Dooku I'm unable to actually get past the opening loading screen.
