Cant create a multiplayer group in battlefront 2 (PC)

My friends and I are attempting to play Battlefront 2. Whenever we invite each other, we are unable to accept each other's invites. The pop up reads "(Friend) has invited you to play SWBF2, install the game to join".

We both have the game installed and we cannot find a way to group up. The only way we are able to play together is joining mid session. However, we do not stay together between matches, and have to repeat this process every time. This is especially glaring in coop, as it is difficult to find a lobby without 4 players that we can join mid session.

This is incredibly frustrating as we are simply trying to group up and play together.

We are playing on steam. We have tried launching through steam and through the EA app, the issue remains.

Please tell me there is a workaround or a fix.

While I don't have the exact answer to your issue at the moment, I can say that if you bought thru Steam, you need to launch thru Steam, not directly with the EA app.

The Friends capability has been problematic for multiple people. I suggest searching this forum and seeing if any of the existing posts help you out. Here is an example.

  • I started getting this issue after linking my Epic account to EA. My Epic account owns Battlefront 2 and my Steam account owns Battlefront 2. It was working fine when only Steam was linked but now I have the exact issue you're explaining.

Do you have Epic and Steam linked to your EA account and have Battlefront 2 on both?
