Can't Mute Group Members

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:PC
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug Often, I'm unable to mute a few people in my group. The option doesn't show up. This is sometimes fixed by remaking the group entirely, but not always.
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? RGF_Bryce
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? Every day that I make a group with friends
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM) 9:00 PM 2/22/19 last I saw it
In what game mode did the bug occur? Galactic Assault
What is your time zone? EST (IET) - GMT - 5:30
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Make a group with multiple members
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't mute certain group members. Those same group members can't mute me. See the picture below. Some people have the mute/unmute icon, some don't. Those who don't can't be muted.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to mute any group member.
Please select your region North America
AMD or Nvidia Model Number N/A

Also, a side note here. Does anyone else find making bug reports infuriatingly difficult? I've clicked submit more than 10 times so far and it won't submit. Also, the submit button often doesn't show up for me. I've been trying to submit this bug since 9:10 (it is now 9:34). I keep leaving for a bit and coming back to see if Submit will work finally. This happens every time I try to submit a bug. It's the reason I don't submit often.

  • Since Pre Release. This is one of the oldest known BUGs that stood strong over the entire history of this game. A tough one, it must be.

People from PC usually avoid this by using a mod which auto mutes everyone. Can't leave a link here AFAIK because it's a mod, but a quick search will allow anyone to find it.

I have to deal with this as I don't think my underwhelming PC should put any more unnecessary strain by using mods. I only use those for offline gameplay, especially to find BUGs and how to reproduce them.

@MagicApoIIo Your explanation of the bug is all info I know on it, so to me you nailed it. I hope DICE fixes this. Better late then never.

  • Me too. Annoying bug.

    Platform: PC

Problem: Starting Battlefront II party causes voice chat to constantly broadcast to party members. No way to disable or mute when playing with a squad of 3-4.

First noticed the issue: December 20, 2020

Steps to reproduce: Open BF2. Invite friend. Instantly broadcasting microphone if Windows 10 allows apps to use microphone. Echoes caused if using 3rd party voice app (discord) Trying to disable ingame/inmatch is impossible. Only muting in menu is possible.

Notes: Inviting 3rd or 4th friend makes it impossible to mute the 3rd person unless one does party juggling (3rd person joins 1st person then leaves after being muted by 1st person. 2nd person joins muting 1st person then 3rd person joins back.

This perpetual mic with party chat requires muting the party EVERY TIME A PARTY IS MADE. Create **disable voice chat setting inmatch**/disable completely. Most people use 3rd party apps - this **causes echoes when playing with Discord** and the same party.

**This party voice chat issue has persisted for many years**, I have seen it mentioned in numerous forums with no permanent fix. All are temporary. Please fix DICE

Solution: Create inmatch setting to completely enable/disable voice chat AND mute party members. Alternatively, do not broadcast microphone without push-to-talk key.
