Can't play with friends battlefront 2 gamepass

I tested Battlefront 2 just now and was able to play with a friend.

@EA_Darko I dont know what exactly the issue is. But ive been trying to play coop with my son and we cant seem to play with each other.

We are using the same xbox game pass technically, just different gamer tags(hes on xbox x and im on my pc). Ive successfully set up EA accounts for both of us and have managed to add each other as friends. However when we try and make a party. The options to join are inactive. We also have not had any luck with trying to simply join each others active games.

Hey @AD1117 are both Gamertags connected to the same EA account?

Is your sons account over age and and can you both play with other people?
