I am no programming expert, but a problem like this should not be too hard to fix for EA (Origin). We just need the Origin app to work properly, as the Origin webpage works. At this point I would be happy just to have the Origin app running as it did two days ago.
I am not protecting them or anything, but as a developer myself it really annoys me when people say stuff like "It's an easy fix, why is it taking so long."
Seeing how bad that problem is, it most likely comes down to the way the launcher detects games / licences. It in the worse case will require completely rewriting the owned games handling part, best case it can be fixed with changing how it sees the difference between your games and licences.
Not to say that I am not furious, but I understand that the problem might be deeper than it seems at first glance. But in the end, seeing how big this company is and how big that current platform is, I don't understand how it has gone unnoticed for so long and how slowly they are dealing with such a problem. For me I have also tried everything short of reinstalling the game on another computer or formatting my PC, and it is driving me crazy.
