Cant Update latest patch

Hello,

Ive been having this issue since the newest patch for Battlefront 2 (1.13 I think?). The update will start downloading and finalizing and then would say the update had failed. I attempted a repair of the game and a restart of both origin and the update only for the issue to persist over the last two or so days.

I have now attempted to reinstall the game and it has been stuck at 15% installing for a while with no indication of the play or pause button. I attempted to quit the install but it seems to still be stuck in this mode, even with a restart of origin.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

  • Thank you for the reply.

My pc is only capable of connecting to the web via Ethernet (custom built pc) and I have relatively good download speeds in my city, so I dont think it was a net issue.

I also attempted to try your second step, only to find that such a file did not exist in origin's directory (perhaps because I had previously deleted the only game I had installed with origin? I have no idea), even with showing hidden files.

In the end I did a complete reinstall of origin itself and deleted any and all files I could find with the program, relaunched the download of the game with the fresh origin installation, now it all seems to work and I have successfully launched the game without any hiccups along the way.

It seems like your 'net connection may not be super awesome, reboot your router and connect your PC to it with a cable rather than via Wi-Fi if you can.

To get you out of the sticking point you are at, go to the drive your games are stored on and look for the folder called - Origin Downloadcache\cache

...inside there you should see a Battlefront 2 folder, delete that. You will need to re-download but hopefully, with the cable connecting your PC and router, everything should go smoothly.

If you continue to see an issue, please see the following link for more steps to take:

Let us know how this goes, thanks.
