Sunday morning I was playing BF2 for a few hours with no issues. Went to get back on after dinner and heard a loud screech noise, the game crashed, and I have not been able to sign into the game sinc...

@EA_Leeuw Unfortunately, transferring the game from the expansion card to internal storage had no effect either

@ccogs11, hmm, that's unfortunate to hear.
Can you try to clear the alternate Mac address of your Xbox to see if that has any effect?
1. Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select Settings.
2. Select Network Settings.
3. Select Advanced Settings.
4. Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address.
5. Select Clear.
6. Allow the console to restart when prompted.- EA_Leeuw

What you heard could very well have been some sort of coil whine, but rather than it being a loud pitched continuous noise, it was a loud burst of high pitched noise.
It is possible that it's a hardware related issue... Although I surely hope its not!
May I ask, are you playing the game in 4K, or do you have a 4K tv connected to your Xbox Series S?
