CrossFire No Longer Works + Game Crash (June 11th Update) [Temporary Fix Found]
I just thought I would add something I've noticed coming from an AMD video card configuration (2x cards). Right now I am running:
- Radeon Settings Version
2019.0522.0921.16852 - Driver Packaging Version
19.10.15.05-190522a-342855C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin2019 - I have 2x Radeon R7 370 video cards originally running together with CrossFire
I have the latest/recommended drivers from AMD. However, I'm noticing that CrossFire is now suffering after this June 11th update. Here is how I know:
- After updating to the June 11th Battlefront 2 patch, my screen would open and stay black for about 5 seconds then close
- Curious, I repaired the game and tried again without luck
- I removed my Battlefront 2 files in Documents and tried again without luck
- At which point I uninstalled the game and reinstalled and still no luck
At which point I suspected CrossFire support was hampered. Previously my CrossFire settings for Battlefront 2 were set to:
- Optimize 1x1
However, after changing AMD CrossFire Mode to Disabled, forcing only 1 card to be used, the game opened fine. Please let everyone else know CrossFire may be affected after this update. Move back to Disabled and test other AMD CrossFire Modes. If they all fail, then clearly the update needs to reflect support for CrossFire support.
Can you get together with the EA team to see if this can be addressed with a patch? Right now I'm running at one card and likely will have to turn down detail to keep my frames playable.
Good news :eahigh_file:
The changes they rolled out now support Optimize 1x1 again! Thank you! Tell your entire team they are awesome as well as Development!!
