Darth Maul lightsaber throw

Summarize your bug When using Darth Mauls lightsaber throw, it will glitch his lightsaber sometimes then it never comes back.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When you throw his lightsaber, sometimes you'll see it being thrown but it won't come back after.
What happens when the bug occurs? The lightsaber is gone and be vulnerable to any attacks until it comes back or it will come back but will be invisible.
What do you expect to see? The lightsaber should always come back when thrown.

When using Darth Mauls lightsaber throw sometimes it'll not come back then you'll become vulnerable to any attacks until it comes back or it will be invisible.

    Maybe not, I'll give a reason too then:

    Whenever Maul is interrupted while performing his Saber Throw Skill he is prone to this visual glitch. It does not interfere with gameplay after the throw is resolved as far as my tests could tell (although some reports do claim otherwise).

    Using the Saber Throw again fixes the visual glitch.

    One may wonder why Maul is missing some of his garments. No, this isn't a Mod. That's due to this BUG: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Visual-Glitches-on-Many-Hero-Skins/m-p/7811066 . It's me after all, BUGs love me.

    I'd be surprised if the new throw didn't come with a new BUG. At least this one is just visual (or I suppose so), but there's another BUG about this new throw that interferes with his damage output, allowing him to deal 225 damage to one enemy in one throw (un)fortunately.

    Is this something you encounter every match if you pick Darth Maul? Or just in a specific case (for example you throw your lightsaber against an object?). 

    By any chance, do you have a video of this happening so the Devs can take a closer look at the exact cause of the bug?

  • Almost about every match but the next time the glitch happens ill make sure to take a picture of it.

    I suppose you made my answer a solution, and thank you for that, but it isn't a solution, it's just just evidence.

    When searching reports here, if one has a solution badge, it makes people believe that issue has a fix, and if it also affected them they'll come here to find the solution. So we should only label a post a solution if it is one.

    But thank you for recognizing my post. This is one BUG I've been working to discover its characteristics for quite a while, but I couldn't come here earlier to share the news until recently unfortunately.

  • This is still occurring in 2020.

    I am now finding that Maul when using the extended reach saber throw star card gets his lightsaber stuck in the environment a lot more. It might eventually return but takes a lot longer and he is vulnerable to attack during that time!  This isn't just an issue with his lightsaber throw but also seems to be more related to issues with the hit detection of the environment and walls and objects within that environment.

    What I mean is that the lightsaber should contact and object and there should be hit detection on that object so that the saber will return to maul as soon as the saber hits that object or wall.  It appears however that the hit detection or "transparency of some medium to small objects as well as walls and ceilings within the map can be passed through with the lightsaber.  When the object goes through the wall or object it continues on for a long time, gets stuck, or continues until it hits another object that the hit detection/ "transparency" of object is set correctly so that the saber deems it a hit and returns to maul.

    What Dice needs to do is go through the maps again and recheck hit detection on more objects, walls and ceilings, as well as stairs in ALL MAPS to determine that the transparency and hit detection for that object is set correctly!

    @MasterPadwan77 I find that the most problematic maps are:
    1. Jabba's Palace and most all walls, ceilings, objects, floors, and stairs the hit detection is off.
    2. A good portion of walls and ceilings in cave parts of Kessel and small objects outside on kessel around Falcon.
    3. Kamino on the walksways right around the large DOME rooms on the outside. Plus objects on those walkways right outside large dome rooms.
    4. Ramps on 1st phase of separatist dreadnaught for HvV and CS. (walls, ceilings, and floors of ramps leading to second level on 2nd phase.

    All other maps cause the issue in various places but these are the biggest problem spots I have found.
