I noticed that exact same bug too on Xbox One, plus I noticed it happens a lot for me when I use choke while in that air, so maybe for now not jumping might help. Haven't confirmed it though
This happens since the last patch, but seems to happen more in this new 1.2 patch. It can be fixed without dying by letting yourself be affected by any paralyzing/stunning/knocking enemy ability. So just hope for Luke's Push or Repulse, a close Detonite from Solo, Chewie's Slam or Shock Grenade, Lando's Shock, Rey's Dash Strike, Yoda's Push. If they simply attack you, you're doomed.
