Darth Vader Glitch

Indeed, this glitch is destroying this game. If only DICE would still care about the product they made, and keep up with their end of the bargain about continuing to fix and tweak stuff, maybe we could get this fixed.

It wasn't closed because the moderator thought it was fixed. It was closed because I asked it to be closed to not create confusion. I'm not a moderator, just a fellow gamer who has been reporting BUGs and trying to find triggers and workarounds for them since 2018.

That glitch was supposedly fixed. I think it was. We went back and forth me and EA with this issue for years. But recently not only Yoda seems to have stopped being affected (which was the character that most frequently triggered that glitch by accident), but I've seen the twisted Palpatine's lightning, which was only present when trying to hit with Palpatine's lightning an invincible enemy due to that glitch, but now although it still twists to an unintended direction, it does damage the target. It wouldn't be the first glitch they solve which leaves behind a weird quirk that's harmless (Rey's Dash Strike Helicopter glitch, Luke's Corpse Staggering glitch, Dodge Partial Stuck glitch are a few examples of previous serious glitches that left a harmless quirk behind after getting fixed). So with all that I believe that invincibility glitch was fixed. EA/DICE aren't clear in almost anything, so I can't be sure.

Now this one is very specific, and requires the new Choke mechanics of 2020 to be triggered. Before the Choke was like this you couldn't do anything while using it, no Saber Throw, no Block, no Dodge. This means you couldn't follow the steps of the glitch being exposed here back then. Also, that report was from May 2018, buried for these 2 years, to suddenly resurface because a random user decided to reply to that thinking it was about the recent glitch. So I asked to close it to not create confusion. Despite all that I totally agree with you this is a very serious issue, and the lack of response from EA/DICE is a serious disrespect with us their customers.

I really appreciate the time you spent answering this topic, didn't know about this bugs. It was a lot of good information that I didn't know. The petition to keep the support for battlefront 2 reached 150k https://www.change.org/p/electronic-arts-continue-support-for-star-wars-battlefront I hope this can bring the development team back to correct the bugs. One good thing DICE could do was to develop DLCs with other characters (Qui Gon, Windu) I talked with a lot of people about this and they would pay to play with these characters, it could be an alternative to not let the game rot without any new update.

Honestly if they come back I’d take bug fixes over new content.

Played 12 games tonight and 3 of them had a Vader exploiting this glitch and what was even more sad is they are emoting like they think they're funny. Absolutely ruins the game and it's obvious if nothing is done more and more will follow suit, copy this glitch and kill the game completely for people who play fair. So sad the current state of the game right now. Like the devs, I give up with the game now. I'm just in absolute utter disbelief how such a game changing bug like this has been found in a game 2 and a half years after release!!

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just play games of Heroes vs Villains until an immortal Vader appears. I played the game twice, both time immortal vader had a nickname [Removed]. He seemed to be immune to abilities like force push

Well, as the description says, I had two games I played with a Vader who was immortal. His nickname was [ID removed]. He killed all of us, and he claimed he used a glitch. I am not sure, but I think he was also immune to abilities like force push.

This was on Supremacy game mode, and well I may be newish to the game, but I'm pretty sure this is a glitch where you just get like choked/pushed simultaneously and just stun locked.

It seems like the last update they did to the code base to nerf Darth Vader Force Choke left this huge bug. Even with millions of new players I think we're not getting this issue fixed anytime soon and now EA is focusing on releasing a new game which has the same mechanics of a mode inside battlefront 2 for me this is the same as calling the consumers idiots, Fallen Order did sell well but battlefront 2 had so much potential and for me it was not explored to its fullest. Besides that, releasing BB8 and BB9 was a last bad joke from EA, we'll never see Qui Gon Jinn, Windu, Ashoka or anything from the Mandalorian which is very very bad. There's the Finn glitch, this Vader glitch and now there's a Leia glitch that I'm hearing. With the track record of fixes they always add newer ones or bring back older bugs so It doesn't really matter if they fix it or not. Just quit out if people are low enough to exploit them or just stop playing the game completely in my opinion. Only bad players need to cheat at a game and exploiting these glitches is cheating. It's sad how grouped players have resorted to having a Vader doing the glitch while they're all emoting solo random players with some of them being new. All they're doing is destroying the amount of players playing the game and what will they do when there's nobody left to play. Moronic behaviour.  The game had massive potential but failed it so many ways but it was still a good game at times. I think the server itself caused a lot of the issues. I think they'll learn there lesson from the mistake made with this game and make a better job for any future battlefront games although I think we will be waiting for a while

People will soon realise that it won't be getting fixed and follow suit. You'll get people using the excuse that they're doing it in hope it gets fixed but not realising they're just killing the population of people playing the game fair. Then of course you'll get more people copying this glitch just to cheat at the game since there's a lot of toxic people in the game to begin with. Such a shame.

And the most EA does is hiding the glitcher's name. I'd want to know why their Hacking Protection system called No Naming and Shaming also applies to glitchers.

Glitchers are playing in a bad way, but they aren't violating ToS like people who use hacks. What's the issue of having their name appear? They can't be touched by EA/DICE as they aren't violating anything. These glitchers are only exploiting ingame features that the devs left there because of their inability to properly fix the issues they create themselves.
