That's a very strange issue indeed. It's almost like some client versions are cursed, and others aren't. I never had this issue, I have several vader videos on my channel and choke worked normally everytime I used, across multiple patch versions. This is a really bad issue and needs attention, as it deprives some players from playing vader to his full potential, but many others can still play him normally.
BTW, which Star Cards do you guys use? Have you tried using others and see if the BUG persists? I remember testing both choke cards and the issue didn't appear on my end, so I'm not sure if those are culprit.
I think I figured it out now. After playtesting Vader again in Arcade and HvV I found out that I must come to a complete standstill before triggering the choke. Only then it seems to work. When I trigger it while I'm moving in any direction it simply quits. Is this how the ability is actually supposed to work?

I have noticed a difference in triggering.
Previous mechanics were about holding the button for choke to keep it going.
Now its press to start and second press to cancel. Holding counts as both presses of the button. (This was tested in Arcade)

Previous mechanic? I've always done this way of just pressing once, even when we had that minigame which the vader's player needed to tap the attack button as fast as he could to enhance the choke duration or damage (don't remember which).
Maybe holding the button worked previously, but then after a patch they changed it to be considered an activation followed by a deactivation? Good guess Rogue Manda. So if you just press it once, does the ability work as intended?

Yes, at least for me. Tested in MP now as well.
