No promises there but if I look at Battlefront 1 then most of the modes can be played both online as offline vs (with co-op) ai's. This means that the layouts you use for online can also be used in offline modes (only exception might be the storymode where you probably get characters assigned to you with loadouts) so for example a specific gun for a specific trooper can also be used in the offline skirmish modes.
Again this is only speculation based upon how stuff worked in Battlefront 1 but that would be my guess.

as you both suspected, there isn't a whole lot of information just yet. We've seen one multiplayer map at EA Play and it's 5 months until release (tomorrow, that is). I would think these questions would be better answered closer to launch when beta has come and gone.
