This is an old bug that's been around since launch practically. I don't see many reporting this bug so it's probably at the back of the queue to be fixed
They have "fixed" this BUG several times already. But clearly they failed. However it has definetly improved. Where once it was really easy to trigger the double charge, nowadays I don't know if anyone still knows how to do it purposefully. And it's not an issue with just Chewie's Slam, but also with Han's Shoulder Charge, Rey's Dash Strike, and maybe others.
Maybe one day they'll be able to fix it, but until now they couldn't do it.
