After the install finishes;
Move the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder from "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II", to the desktop (Uninstall, doesn't remove the folder).
then run the repair tool (via the gear/cog icon in origin, on the bf2 screen. After the repair finishes reboot and try it.
After that, if the issue isn't related to Direct X (make sure you have done all windows updates), I would check #2A 2B in the fix list link below.

I checked out that thread and followed it into another and a post in their had the solution. My Windows 7 software wasn't up to date! It's still downloading at round 20% complete but I'm able to open BF2 and play the arcade! I'll consider this solved.
