Would be better if duplicates gave crafting parts instead of credits.
Or already owned cards would be taken out and instead you would get one of the same quality you do not already possess, be it an upgrade or an entirely new one, and after you have all cards of this quality (probably all white first), you get 20 CP per card quality level instead.

Community AdminYes this absolutely isn't solved, and we don't consider it as such. I didn't mark this as a solution, but it's valuable that folks see that they will get their credits back, I'll edit the post to reflect this.

I just noticed yesterday and today that I am currently having the same problem with duplicates not granting credits. I don't know exactly when this started, but things were definitely fine before the latest patch.
The last time I opened a crate with duplicates that didn't award credits was today 31/01/18 sometime between 19:45 and 19:50 GMT.
Do I need to report this bug formally elsewhere, or is this enough information for you?

EDIT: this is now definitely happening with every crate I open....
The main menu still shows this post as "solved" when it is still occurring and not solved by the members that continue to post on the subject. Please correct this.
@mysweetescape13I agree this is in no way "solved", I would like to explain this in a form of an analogy. (Analogies have helped me tremendously in my years of marriage.)
If I have a fight with my wife and I buy her flowers the fight isn't over, solved or done. The discussion has started and I have simply conceded fault. Saying the fight was over with the delivery of flowers, or in EA's case saying that the credits will be awarded retroactively is only the beginning of a resolution. The topic needs to be changed to reflect that yes, a resolution has been started, but this is no way over or solved. Let's all be realistic, and understanding that this is no way over.
