Thanks for the update @EA_Ataashi!
https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/battlefront/battlefront-2/news/progression-update
So with the news of the revamped progression update releasing next Wednesday, how exactly are we supposed to get compensated for our lost credits? As we can't purchase crates anymore, will our lost credits instead be compensated so we can buy the new appearances that are supposed to be released in April?
No backlog received this morning, new card in the daily so that was nice.
Saw the news on the progression update, thanks for the link @Tillus_Osciliath
I would also like to know how/when are we going to get our credit backlog now? TBH, I don't care about cosmetics all that much so getting a windfall of appearances does nothing to ease my agitation. I would rather have the credits now so I can get one last blast of crates to collect crafting parts that will be able to be converted to skill points. It doesn't sound like credits are going to be useful for anything other than cosmetics so those of us with backlogs of unearned credits are really having our options limited.
I would suggest that EA have a short-term option to exchange credits for the new skill points or convert the credits directly to crafting parts that can be exchanged for skill points. Or, give us the option to receive our backlogs in the form of skill points directly. I really like the logic of the new progression, it seems appropriate. But I can't help but feel like EA got our hopes up in fixing this bug, failed to deliver, getting our hopes up again that we would still receive our backlog, and now telling us that we will only be able to use it on pretty skins instead of PROGRESSING our characters as originally intended. It feels ironic that the Progression Update, as explained, will eliminate our ability to employ the progression we have already earned. All this is even assuming that the backlogs will actually get awarded which has not been the case so far.
@EA_Atic @EA_Ataashi @EA_David Can you please shed some additional light on this issue? I'm hoping that I'm not understanding something correctly or misinterpreting something. As it stands, I'm feeling even more frustrated and cheated. I'm certainly not feeling any sense of pride or accomplishment.

We are all completely screwed now! Everyone who has replied to this issue of duplicate credits will have a detrimental and costly disadvantage to every other player when this becomes online. NOW THERE IS NO EXCUSE!
Star Wars Battlefront II Progression Update FAQ
The Star Wars Battlefront II Progression Update releases on March 21, thus with that in mind, it is March 16th 2018 and no credits returned to any here still replying.
Congratulations.

This was my exact thought when I saw the progression changes. I've yet to get a single credit back on dupes since I started a month ago and I've had countless dupes in boxes as I've been playing pretty hard.
Can we get any kind of answer on if our retroactive credits are lost?
- Anonymous8 years ago
The news for the new progression system is both awesome to hear and rage inducing. I am probably owed 1,000,000 credits at this point and we were told not to worry and to just spend the credits and crafting parts we had saved as we would be rewarded retroactively. Now we get news of the update but not a single mention of those unfortunate enough to be affected by the bug and we also find out that crafting parts would be worth more if we save them for the new update. This is like solving world hunger by letting all the starving or malnourished die. If we are being swept under the rug for the greater good then just f*%#ing tell us already instead of stringing us along and wasting out time checking forums and websites for news or spreading the word of this bug to others.

From the FAQ,
"If you want to maximize your Unit Levels at the outset of the new system, you should primarily focus on earning more Star Cards and Parts right now by using your Credits to purchase Crates. "
I'd REALLY like to do that.
Can I have my credits to do that?
- Anonymous8 years ago
Also from the FAQ,
"As a Trooper, for example, you will need to be Unit Level 22 to upgrade a Star Card to Rare, and Unit Level 35 to upgrade a Star Card to Epic. "
Right now my Officer is level 26. If I had my credits to turn into parts, I'd probably choose to take him up to 35 with those, letting me get anything I need to Epic level. If I don't get the missing credits until they're all cosmetics, it's looking like a LOT more gameplay to get him 9 more levels to get to where I should be if it wasn't for this bug!
This had better be fixed properly.
And to be clear, let's suppose a crate is one skill level. (40 parts will convert to one level, figure crates are usually 35 sometimes 50, so about one skill level per crate.) So if I'm owed 100k that's 45 or so levels, right? Wrong. Those 45 crates would give me enough duplicates for another 25 crates. Which in turn give enough duplicates for another dozen. And so on. About every 1,000 credits I'm shorted is one skill level after all those cycles of crate opening. That's a LOT of leveling work if we don't convert over correctly!
- Anonymous8 years agoWow, just * wow. We are getting so screwed if we aren't given our back logs, all of them. Before it changes over. I don't even want to think of how furious I will be if we are written off.

I am not sure if I should just be laughing out loud or burn the game to hell... A game that I have shelved weeks ago even if I still let my son playing with my account from time to time.
Anyway, it is not like it is happening exactly what I said multiple times in various messages here: EA is absolutely not working on the issue at all. This is just a massive persistent lie, reiterated in many occasions by multiple EA representatives and also relayed by EA fanatics trying to protect their beloved company.
I always personally found very weird (and embarrassing to say the least) as a professional programmer myself with 30+ years of experience that EA developers could not nail down a bug like the duplicate cards one. I know things can get tricky to fix sometimes but certainly not up to the point where it takes 120+ days for a complete team of what... 100+ people ?
The reason for those multiple lies is now even more obvious than ever and confirms what I always thought:
Because of the micro transaction commercial disaster, they decided months ago they had to revamp the entire progression system, trying to save the game and their reputation. Of course, because they were going to change the progression system ,what would they bother trying to fix an existing system that would be replaced very soon anyway ? That would be an unnecessary cost of time and money... But more importantly, that micro transaction disaster prevented thousands if not millions of people from buying the game because of the terrible reviews it got from everywhere in the world.
So, what do you think EA is trying to do here with their new progression system ? Help the existing customers ? Wrong.
They are trying to get the people who did not buy the game to buy it, to compensate the lost of profit caused by the miserable micro transaction failure. They are trying to get the press and reviews back on track so their reputation could remain intact and they could gather more money from new innocent victims who will be swallowing the fresh new lie.
But even if I had been suspecting the above for weeks now, I always kept inside me that naive hope that EA would fix the duplicate card bug and simply care about their existing clients who put them where they are today. It is just like that "retroactive credit" thing. I never believed it and now that it may happen, it sounds like it will be completely useless as you can't use the credits for enhancing the cards. Isn't that an insanely brilliant idea ? I am wondering how many meetings EA people had to decide that. But think even further: in between, they raised the amount of credits that you could get from duplicate cards for the people who don't have the bug yet. Why would you do that ? Clue: answer is in one of my previous messages...
I had an email from an EA police (sarcasm) representative recently asking me to be respectful in the forums. I think that respect is something you own. It is not something that comes by essence and I could have taken the criticism if the company for which that employee is working was not itself the most disrespectful entity that I know.
EA has no idea what respect means, at any level. EA simply hide their recurring lies behind sweet and sympathetic sentences from EA representatives to make us believe that they care. I personally find this being way more devious and disrespectful that any sort of rude language.
And to finally quote a character that I really enjoy (warning: PG-13 second degree sarcasm):
"And thus I [EA] clothe my naked villainy with old odd ends stolen from holy writ and seem a saint when most I play the devil" (V).

Well at least if they ever actually fix this bug and we get our missing credits back, we can get all the cosmetics...
- Anonymous8 years agoDude, I admire you deeply for your bravery and honesty ...
Your words are music to all of us trapped in this maze.
I have been silent for a long time in the hope that this situation would be solved, but as we can see this company doesnt have the least respect for its customers.
Shame on you EA, bunch of rats! - Anonymous8 years ago
EA folks,
I feel I need to more clearly state my issue here.
This bug has been affecting me since late November. In the more than 3 and a half months of purchased crates, daily crates, milestone crates, celebration crates, etc, I estimate I've been shorted at least 100,000 credits. (Though I would not be surprised if it's actually above 150,000.)
All that crates are good for is giving me crafting parts; I have opened enough to have so many common cards that most everything in a crate is a duplicate.
I estimate I'm out 4,000 to 5,000 crafting parts from crates I can't purchase due to this bug denying me credits.
That's a lot of progress I should have earned, but have not.
To address this, I need to be able to catch up my progress to where I should be without the bug.
Giving me 100,000 credits on Wednesday with which to buy cosmetics will not correct my lack of progress over the past 16 weeks.
I am going to need a better solution than what has been described today.
What can you offer me? - 8 years ago
Agreed, this is ridiculous that we've been hindered by a math bug for months! Rewarding us with skins is an inglorious solution. We have been moderately patient while you released several patches that could have resolved this, the last of which explicitly stated that it did fix it, only to be proven wrong. I would assume that there is some way you could individually tag our files to receive compensation. If I can go to customer support and get 2K credits for a missed level up, you have the means and the mechanisms to correct this issue, now. Even if it's just for the people on the forums here, that would be a small step for the vociferous minority. I would accept 50K credits to shut up and go away. BEFORE the patch drops on Wednesday. I encourage others to bring your best offer as well. What do we have to lose at this point?
- Anonymous8 years ago
SERIOUSLY GIVE ME 100K TO 200K CREDITS NOW TO OPEN SOME CRATES, GET CRAFTING PARTS AND BUMP UP A FEW OF MY RARE BLUE CARDS TO EPIC !
BEFORE THIS NEW PATCH DROPS !
and ill be abit happy
- Anonymous8 years agoI can’t believe this still isn’t fixed. I’ve been playing battlefront one again lol. Tired of all the * going on in battlefront two right now :/

I'm here to tell you that if you guys roll out this new progression system before you compensate everyone in this thread that has been complaining about this issue with either a massive amount of crafting parts or a massive amount of credits to buy crates to get crafting parts to progress our characters to where they should be then you will have royally phucked us. I can see now why so many people have full decks of epic cards when they are getting up to 1500 credits back each time they purchase a loot crate and accumulating crafting parts. We have been getting shafted since November , grinding for credits to get crates and basically throwing those credits away while others are stacking up crafting parts because they are able to get such a credit return on duplicates. This is complete bullshite , I can only speak for myself , but if this issue is not somehow fixed for us before the new progression system goes into place then this is the last time i will spend my money on an EA game. Giving us credits after the update isnt going to get us to the levels that we should be at , I would rather have them NOW so I can get my characters up to where they should be. i dont want a bunch of credits that I can only use for cosmetics. You guys need to fix this NOW , you have put this off for far to long and I am pretty pissed off about it and I can see i'm not alone in this.
- Anonymous8 years agoIm already furious, we are getting royally phucked unless they dump a massive amount of credits on us , actually forget the credits, we need a massive amount of crafting parts to get our characters to where they should be , and yes you made it VERY clear ....

Waiting....
- Anonymous8 years agoI'm getting rid of this game and never buying another EA product again if this doesn't get resolved before the change. I posted once about a month ago when I realized I wasn't the only one suffering from this bug for months. It's so infuriating to see all these opponents that have fully maxed out star cards with multiple characters, and I don't have a single maxed out character despite the amount of hours logged and my scores.
This is pathetic. - Anonymous8 years agoI am in the process of getting my money back i was offered 15k credits to placate me but what's the point when the box system doesn't work was my response I DID love this game doing my beloved star wars justice with a fun and cool game but the copy paste responses promises of false hope and general lack of care for us that keep you (the worlds worst gameing company for last 4years) in business has driven this devout star wars fan into to the unknown regions like the original sigh race

I am quite certain that this issue will not be fixed with the upcoming patch. When I asked one of the recently active developers over at the forums, "trydling", he said that he didn't have any information on whether or not this would be fixed in the upcoming patch. As the patch is already finished, and patch notes are probably either done or being finalized, my assumption is that the reason why he can't share any information about this issue is that of one thing and one thing only; it's not fixed.
Am I disappointed? Absolutely. I am, however, not surprised.
- Anonymous8 years ago
..If I can go to customer support and get 2K credits for a missed level up, you have the means and the mechanisms to correct this issue, now. ...Unfortunately, dropping the missing amount without the fix to the crate system is problematic. Never mind logistics of whether some people could get around to spending it on short notice before Wednesday.
If I'm owed 100k and I get that in time to burn it for credits, I'll be out another 50k in duplicates. They'd need to run that reward again, then again after I open those, and so on. The net cost of the crate should be 1000 credits, which equals 2200 minus the 1200 you get back from its duplicates. Any credits awarded now would be at a terrible exchange rate for parts.
They could convert the credits for us. 40 crafting parts for every 1000 credits is about what the math works out to. (It'd be 35 parts a crate but sometimes 50 and sometimes extra credits from duplicate uncommons/rares, and occasionally would get a whole card valued at a few hundred parts, so let's round up to 40.) Or give us both our credits and the bonus parts, as compensation for dealing with this for so long.
Giving us credits we can only spend on new cosmetics is not a solution. The bug has not kept me from getting cosmetics that don't exist yet, it's kept me from getting star cards.
- Anonymous8 years ago
I want to convert credits into crafting parts in order to get some progression boosts after the progression update. But I had to stop because after 50k credits I noticed that my dublicate cards aren't rewarded. Will you fix this bug before the 21st March or will I get them rewarded after the bug?
- Anonymous8 years ago
Yes , @cb042 is exactly correct. Its not just a "onetime" payout issue with the returns on duplicates. And as far as the post from @GamadonE I have this issue with the levels as well. in the collection menu they show one level , for example , my specialist is legit a level 41 in the "collection" screen. However , once I take him into play he becomes a level 82 , insanely high. This is actually the case with all of my characters. Now, what I will say is that if we are getting this change in levels because we arent getting the duplicates than we can only hope that when the conversion to the new progression system comes we get level credit at our "glitch" level as this would in a way partly compensate for our lack of progression, does that make sense ? IF and its a big IF they did that for us in that manner than that would actually be acceptable as we will already be at the max level.... which we would probably be at if we "bought" our way there thru the loot crate system.

Everyone should be angry and be demanding that EA spot everyone at least 250,000 credits before the March 21st update. I know I've lost plenty of credits but not as much as some people on here. The only way this update is not going to burn EA to the ground is if the players affected have been dealt with first or else this update will be all for nothing.

I just posted on the star wars battlefront 2 sub in reddit. Feel free to express your anger there as well so we can get our problem as much exposure as possible.
