In the same boat, I received ~190k credits with the patch. Woohoo?
To make this right, the devs really need to give us an option to convert these funds to skill points.
- 8 years ago
I am going to play a little devil's advocate here and say I want to keep my credits. I know that sounds crazy but after playing 4 hours yesterday I gained 5 skill points and maybe 20,000 credits. I think it's going to be harder to get credits going forward.
@EA_David @EA_Atic @Lucien1969 @mysweetescape13 @narion_k @Tronar2011 @vadergoth @grimmace2 @Tillus_Osciliath @cb042 @MrMisanthropy666 and all the rest of my peeps in this thread.
Okay, so first off, I do believe EA still owes us a "Sorry for the 2-3 month wait error issue we didn't fix." ...that should be a given.
This "gift" could be given in the form of "PARTS." I say this, because there is no way for them to give skill points to us without us specify which class, hero or ship we want it to go to. I can see that becoming super convoluted and why to make this harder than necessary.
My suggestion would be as follows. To calculate the number of parts, take into account the credits each of us received. Every 50,000 credits, it could equal 320 parts or 8 skill points. This would be the fairest way to make up for the fact we never had the chance to use the credits on the crate system which would have to award us more duplicate credits with of course some sort decay over time. The odds of duplicates is different for all of us, those who had more items crafted by parts would change the payout. That is if the payout of new items was preset, but if the payout is random then it would affect it, even more, making you hit many of the same duplicates over and over. I am no mathematician and I am doing this in abstract theory, if any of you are mathematicians, maybe you have a more accurate way of predicting this?I am proposing that every 50,000 credits awarded be divided by crate average (rounded down the average of 3000, 2400 and 2200) 2,500 = 20 crates. Factor how many duplicate credits we would have received. I am taking this average from 20 crates in a row from my videos on Youtube. Becuase each time you open a crate your chances at a new item changes all subsequent crates I will round up as I rounded down on the average crates. (I don't think I am smart enough to figure out what this change would be without knowing all cards possible in the game.) Anyway, I digress, back to the average. I went through and watch a few of my videos, many of these were done early off so the number of duplicates wasn't at its highest point, but I think it gives us a good number anyway. I have attached the spreadsheet image. Per the spread sample data, I received an 800 per crate average duplicate credit payment. Taking the average, 800 x 20 = 16,000 credits. 16,000 divided by 2,500 = 6.4 crates. 5,125 divided by 2,500 = 2 crates. 1600 then would be the amount remaining. Essentially that is roughly 24,000 credits or 8.6 crates that we will not earn towards progression.
Again, this is a theoretical solution, but one that works in my books. Let me know what you guys think.
Also I didn't factor in what we would have received in parts... as I wasn't sure that would be overkill.
Solution: Credit each person who had duplicate issue 320 crafting parts per 50,000 credits that were paid back in patch 2.0.

Nice try, @Paodok. But I am pretty sure that whoever is in charge of making these "business" decisions at EA for Battlefront II won't even take a remote look at your calculations.
The guy didn't consider it necessary to even look at the bug this thread is all about from December to January. When in February the pressure had built to a certain point, he was permitting a half-baked approach of fixing it with patch 1.2, which - as we all here know - didn't fix it for the vast majority of people affected by the bug (I've seen exactly two posts so far confirming that the patch did do something for them).
Then - with the focus of somehow getting the in-game real-money purchases going again by re-modelling the entire progression system - finally the new system was released and because of the mob nearly boiling also the missed credits were rewarded at the same time. (Without explaining us how they calculated the compensation amount, mind you).
But apparently they didn't even consider for a second that giving the people their credits at the time when credits buy entirely different stuff (fancy outfits instead of progression with the star cards) maybe wouldn't be greeted with too much enthusiasm.
How can you overlook such a thing, when everything everybody here did was complaining about their disadvantage regarding their progressing compared to the players unaffected by the bug?
So do you really expect a decision maker overlooking such a big issue, that he or she will take the time to look at your calculations? Sorry to rain on your parade. I know you mean well, I just don't want you to keep your hopes up or wasting more time with these kinds of detailed suggestions.
We're completely at their mercy regarding the if, when and how and the only thing you can really do is think twice next time before buying a game that has EA on its label, if you are not satisfied with how they handled things.
Apparently the developer ressources seem to be very scarce on top of that, because they released a half-ready progression system without the capability of in-game purchases and without any use for the credits in your account. Without another patch the current status is not self-reliant at all. People are acquiring credits after each match they can't buy anything with. I am wondering how much their support team is getting swamped by newbies asking what on earth the credits they receive all the time can be actually used for. - ApprovedAnonymous8 years ago
On November 17th 2017, It was all decided for us. There was no time devoted to us to repair this issue. And I don't know why nobody but me understands that. They fed us propaganda written by those with much greater influence and power within the company, And as such these member(s) had to comply to non disclosures.The fact that not one member disclosed this, was already established that they had information that was yet to be made public. Hint, no actual transparency.
We can assume that they knew in advance that the progression was coming.. Thus they kept us in the dark willfully for 120 days, or less to change the entire game so that we would not return and demand refunds.Yes, the fixed it, yes they returned the credits, yes the credits are now useless, yes, we cannot be provided the rank and privileges bestowed by our other games fortunate not to have this as a tremendous disservice. What is this thing that builds our dreams, yet slips away from us? Two words come to mind, Calculated deceit
I only received 217K. and lost access to eight star cards, Ha, go figure. But I have no time for this absurdity as I an consistently enjoying Captain, Helm, Tactical and Engineering with Star Trek Bridge Crew for Playstation VR with my new PS4 Pro, PS VR, TB Stealth Headset and wireless controllers.

I'm kind of viewing this as a dead issue at this point. As far as the devs are concerned, the issue is corrected. The star card situation is annoying to be sure but I was able to level up four cards to purple in a couple of hours yesterday, when under the old progression I still would not have upgraded one. Again, not saying it's right but unless they're willing to let us level up heroes/troopers/starfighters of our choice with this as yet to be offered compensation, it really doesn't mean much. Anything short of actually leveling up the class is irrelevant. I will be able to earn starcards/upgrades faster than before, with the exception of hero ships (which I leveled all to blue on primary loadout before the conversion). Hero ships are going to be a real pain. If they want to drop a crate full of skill points, great, I'll use them, but it still won't make up for the leveling time we've lost by not being able to upgrade cards before the conversion. Anything short of free levels is meaningless to me.

@grimmace2 I hear you but I think this is still not finished. Not in my eyes and it shouldn't be for others. I feel alienated that there was nothing already decided by EA. I think they should check my post as my offer is fair as well as one that can be written into the code next update.

Two months ago, what we should have done, is asked specifically,
"When this issue is fixed, will we be able to purchase crates?" OR "When this issue is fixed, will we be able to upgrade are outdated starcards?"
I doubted then that this would go our way, as I have said many times before, they are all mouthpieces, and any information that they have is protected bu non-disclosure. Henceforth, the will provide a truth, but omit the facts relative to that truth. Great example is this one.
So besides adults being cheated, young adults and children have been as well, Yes even children were cheated, misinformed, by the omission that EA will fix this issue when crates are completely removed and only then. I have still several errors, bugs, glitches, exploits that have never been solved or even looked at for months. And soon I will be posting almost 100 new YouTube videos showing how really messed up the developers have continually with each update destroyed this game.

Well, patch this morning shows they can move quickly if they so choose. Would be nice to have some "thoughts" from the dev team about the issue now. Funny side note, the 2.0 patch screwed up some interceptor star cards. I figured they would take forever to fix (if they even fixed it at all), so I did a little bit of grinding myself and fixed them myself. Patch 2.1 this morning screwed them all up again. Don't change guys, having normal, regular progression would really tarnish the stellar reputation EA has.
- ApprovedAnonymous8 years agoROFL... So I finally get all by lost credits today. And, wouldn't you know it... There's no crates to buy with my credits.
I'm glad I quit this game over a month ago.
And, also I'd like to thank EA for my 3 day suspension from the forumns after finally got fed up in waiting and I started cursing.
That was a class act move that just enforced my decision to never buy another EA product.
And, to add insult to injury, I haven't played any games in a month. I think you cured me of my video addition. I will now be able to spend my cash in a more constructive way from here on out.
P.S. There was a lot of sarcasm said above, just so everyone knows and doesn't get stuff twisted.
I still think EA is the worst company. And, I think it's run by a bunch of bloody fools.
I'll be awaiting my next suspension!

I am trying to start a fledgling Youtube channel and I plan to do a video specifically on the topic of all of us in this forum. I plan to read some of the more important posts in this forum as well as show the Twitter and Facebook posts that I posted that really went unanswered by EA. It may only get a little play, but maybe if we all share the video (once finished) it will get some traction somewhere. If you all have blogs or web pages you can post to as well link back to this forum as well as the video (soon to be finished.)

LOL, it isn't a custom or real channel such as yours @Paodok but here is the link, my youtube videos feel free to share any videos you wish. I have many videos still to upload, but my last shows Star Wars Battlefront II Xbox Video Capture of Entire Player Account before Update 2.0 Progression

@mysweetescape13
I grabbed the videos as well as the other videos users like Kevin shared. I will make sure to reference them on the channel. Can you explain the videos of the player account capture? Is that the entire source code of your player account? This would show the duplicate issues correct?
EVERYONE ELSE: if you have videos you want to share, send me a link and I will download. I also wondered if we could somehow grab a list of all the names of people here on EA Answers easily? I would then put in a name slideshow of all of us that have been subjected to this horrible error. We seriously need to be our own activists to get this noticed!

The video in question is a full "Collection" accounting of my player account, one day before the patch 2.0 March 21st update. I have the full content as a normal pace, as this capture is faster to comply with YouTube restrictions.
Description
- My primary Xbox One EA Star Wars Battlefront II Player Account video capture on March 20th 2018 of current Rank and standing. This capture was completed one day prior to Update 2.0 Progression dropped on March 21st 2018
I will be uploading several more videos this weekend when I have more time. If I am correct, based on the captured content I gathered, it will definitely raise a few eyebrows and should prove useful. I will try to describe the video capture as accurately as possible.

I worked on downloaded the rest of the stuff needed for the video. I am surprised no one else is posting here. I hope it is not that everyone else gave up, I still think we deserve some sort of compensation for the time and issues the error cost us.

@EA_David
We have been patiently waiting for an update on what we would receive from EA for our 3 months of suffering through the no credit for duplicates issue. I know you are busy, and we all respect that. But we would like an update on what has been decided. I posted a way for EA to make things better with us. It is fair and the way it can be given would only require a few lines of code. I believe it is around 1015 or so, I tagged you in that post. Again, its simple, quick and a wonderful way of showing all of us you care about us as customers... which I still believe you do.- Paodok

trydling, one of the developers on the official forums, promised us an update in the upcoming days on their thoughts about us not being able to use our compensated credits for things other than cosmetics. This was back on March 22. We still haven't got an update.

@grimmace2 I agree 100%, they had enough time to goof around with a Season 2 April Fools joke! I would think they would have the time and decency to let us know what is going on.
