Forum Discussion
Two months ago, what we should have done, is asked specifically,
"When this issue is fixed, will we be able to purchase crates?" OR "When this issue is fixed, will we be able to upgrade are outdated starcards?"
I doubted then that this would go our way, as I have said many times before, they are all mouthpieces, and any information that they have is protected bu non-disclosure. Henceforth, the will provide a truth, but omit the facts relative to that truth. Great example is this one.
So besides adults being cheated, young adults and children have been as well, Yes even children were cheated, misinformed, by the omission that EA will fix this issue when crates are completely removed and only then. I have still several errors, bugs, glitches, exploits that have never been solved or even looked at for months. And soon I will be posting almost 100 new YouTube videos showing how really messed up the developers have continually with each update destroyed this game.

I am trying to start a fledgling Youtube channel and I plan to do a video specifically on the topic of all of us in this forum. I plan to read some of the more important posts in this forum as well as show the Twitter and Facebook posts that I posted that really went unanswered by EA. It may only get a little play, but maybe if we all share the video (once finished) it will get some traction somewhere. If you all have blogs or web pages you can post to as well link back to this forum as well as the video (soon to be finished.)

I grabbed the videos as well as the other videos users like Kevin shared. I will make sure to reference them on the channel. Can you explain the videos of the player account capture? Is that the entire source code of your player account? This would show the duplicate issues correct?
EVERYONE ELSE: if you have videos you want to share, send me a link and I will download. I also wondered if we could somehow grab a list of all the names of people here on EA Answers easily? I would then put in a name slideshow of all of us that have been subjected to this horrible error. We seriously need to be our own activists to get this noticed!

@Paodok
The video in question is a full "Collection" accounting of my player account, one day before the patch 2.0 March 21st update. I have the full content as a normal pace, as this capture is faster to comply with YouTube restrictions.
Description
- My primary Xbox One EA Star Wars Battlefront II Player Account video capture on March 20th 2018 of current Rank and standing. This capture was completed one day prior to Update 2.0 Progression dropped on March 21st 2018
I will be uploading several more videos this weekend when I have more time. If I am correct, based on the captured content I gathered, it will definitely raise a few eyebrows and should prove useful. I will try to describe the video capture as accurately as possible.

I worked on downloaded the rest of the stuff needed for the video. I am surprised no one else is posting here. I hope it is not that everyone else gave up, I still think we deserve some sort of compensation for the time and issues the error cost us.

Thanks EA for screwing us ! - 8 years ago
@EA_David
We have been patiently waiting for an update on what we would receive from EA for our 3 months of suffering through the no credit for duplicates issue. I know you are busy, and we all respect that. But we would like an update on what has been decided. I posted a way for EA to make things better with us. It is fair and the way it can be given would only require a few lines of code. I believe it is around 1015 or so, I tagged you in that post. Again, its simple, quick and a wonderful way of showing all of us you care about us as customers... which I still believe you do.- Paodok

trydling, one of the developers on the official forums, promised us an update in the upcoming days on their thoughts about us not being able to use our compensated credits for things other than cosmetics. This was back on March 22. We still haven't got an update.

@RENEGADEPETIE I can still use the screenshots from your account. Is your Xbox id renegadepete? If so I will add it as well and grab all the screenshots. I am not sure why EA is waiting to make good with us. I put in a post not too far back a way for them to compensate us for our time in a fair way. I will post that below here in case they still haven't read the post.
@EA_David@EA_Atic You guys seeing this?
------------------------------ PREVIOUS POST --------------------------------------
Here is a link to that post.
I am going to play a little devil's advocate here and say I want to keep my credits. I know that sounds crazy but after playing 4 hours yesterday I gained 5 skill points and maybe 20,000 credits. I think it's going to be harder to get credits going forward.Okay, so first off, I do believe EA still owes us a "Sorry for the 2-3 month wait error issue we didn't fix." ...that should be a given.
This "gift" could be given in the form of "PARTS." I say this, because there is no way for them to give skill points to us without us specify which class, hero or ship we want it to go to. I can see that becoming super convoluted and why to make this harder than necessary.
My suggestion would be as follows. To calculate the number of parts, take into account the credits each of us received. Every 50,000 credits, it could equal 320 parts or 8 skill points. This would be the fairest way to make up for the fact we never had the chance to use the credits on the crate system which would have to award us more duplicate credits with of course some sort decay over time. The odds of duplicates is different for all of us, those who had more items crafted by parts would change the payout. That is if the payout of new items was preset, but if the payout is random then it would affect it, even more, making you hit many of the same duplicates over and over. I am no mathematician and I am doing this in abstract theory, if any of you are mathematicians, maybe you have a more accurate way of predicting this?I am proposing that every 50,000 credits awarded be divided by crate average (rounded down the average of 3000, 2400 and 2200) 2,500 = 20 crates. Factor how many duplicate credits we would have received. I am taking this average from 20 crates in a row from my videos on Youtube. Becuase each time you open a crate your chances at a new item changes all subsequent crates I will round up as I rounded down on the average crates. (I don't think I am smart enough to figure out what this change would be without knowing all cards possible in the game.) Anyway, I digress, back to the average. I went through and watch a few of my videos, many of these were done early off so the number of duplicates wasn't at its highest point, but I think it gives us a good number anyway. I have attached the spreadsheet image. Per the spread sample data, I received an 800 per crate average duplicate credit payment. Taking the average, 800 x 20 = 16,000 credits. 16,000 divided by 2,500 = 6.4 crates. 5,125 divided by 2,500 = 2 crates. 1600 then would be the amount remaining. Essentially that is roughly 24,000 credits or 8.6 crates that we will not earn towards progression.
Again, this is a theoretical solution, but one that works in my books. Let me know what you guys think.
I didn't factor in what we would have received in parts... but if you consider on average that there are 50 parts per crate we would have even more crafting parts due to us. Again, this isn't asking for anything extra, this is asking for what we should have received had the error never existed.
Solution:
Credit each person who had the duplicate error, 320 crafting parts per 50,000 credits that were paid back in patch 2.0. If you also factor in the missing parts in the crates it would be an additional 320 parts per 50,000. I believe the Dev Team could easily write this into the code for the next update. With that being done, I am sure everyone would be satisfied that we received what we were supposed to from the crates.
(Chart in the previous post was not embedded in this post.)

@Paodok I share your sentiment in regards to keeping credits. Although I missed out on a lot of crates prior to the last update, I was in good position to upgrade most things to elite. The new progression system is great and ranking up is fairly easy so it is a difficult decision. Now that I have most characters where I want them, I would rather spend most of my 560,000 credits on customization options and use the meager amount of crafting parts I have to rank up the classes I don't use much. It would still be sweet if they gave us something extra like you are suggesting, as we were told to spend our crafting parts and credits instead of saving them like we were. The first indication that we should save crafting parts to take advantage of the insane exchange rate left us with a window of a few days to save up parts. This news contradicted what we were being told the whole time so I missed out on an additional 24-36 skill points by a few days, as I had just bought a few more elite cards prior to news on the new progression system. All in all, I love the way the game is now and am happy with the compensation but a little something extra for our problem would be a nice touch.

@EA_David, @EA_Atic, anyone else around to comment on all this? We're short levels because we couldn't use the progression system without credits.

Has there been any additional communication about this on the dev side? Additional compensation or other thoughts?
Or is this considered a dead issue to the dev team and we should go on our merry ways? I would just like to know if I have to keep coming here and checking in periodically.

From my "Certain point of view" the plan I put forth was not an "extra" it was what we would have received had the game not been broken for us. The crates gave out parts, those parts and the decay of credits is all something they have to have numbers on. Therefore it would be easy for them to make good with us. I still view this as an open issue and one that won't be resolved until the give us what we should have received without the error.
@EA_David@EA_Atic @EA_Mat @EA_Dave; Someone let us know what is being done.
--------------- UPDATED SOLUTION -----------------I do believe EA still owes us a "Sorry for the 2-3 month wait error issue we didn't fix." ...that should be a given. I think this "SORRY" should be in the form of parts.
On a separate note, I don't think we were given the proper credits. The problem EA hasn't factored in, the duplicate credits we would have received with these credits as well as the parts, had we been able to use them for crates. The luck of the draw from these crates can still be figured out as well as the number of parts we should have received if we were given the option to spend those on crates. We weren't given this option, but how was that in anyway our fault? Its obviously not a mathematical problem that can easily be solved, so I have played a bit of a keyboard mathematician.
I believe EA could make this right by giving us "PARTS." I say this because there is no way for them to give skill points to us without us specifying which class, hero or ship we want the skill point to go towards. I can see that becoming super convoluted and why to make this harder than necessary.

Essentially that is roughly 24,000 credits or 8.6 crates that we will not earn towards progression.
Since I didn't factor in what we would have received parts from each crate also. I watched my videos and did a calculation on 60 crates opened. The average was 41.19 per crate average. (With hero crate giving out about 35-50, etc.) If I factor that in with the number of crates within my decay algorithm above it would be 28.4 x 41.19 = 1170 parts. This could be added in based on the number of crates that each person would have opened. This is tandem with the 320 parts per 50,000 credits. I will use my part shortage as an example. With the 320 parts x 4.4 = 1408 plus 1170 comes out to 2578 total parts. I would be happy with just the 320 per 50,000 but I wanted to be comprehensive as possible, Remeber this would have been what we received from the crates, not extras, not a payment, just what is due.
I hope EA is reading this and is taking the time to see we are still here and we are not leaving until we have some engagement with them on this topic.
Solution: Credit each person who had duplicate issue 320 crafting parts per 50,000 credits that were paid back in patch 2.0. Plus parts that would have been given in the previous crate

I can appreciate the work that went into your math, but if they're already ignoring us I think they're not going to pay much attention to a huge wall of text.
Further, your math ignores what's actually meaningful in this.
Crystals would be useless, they'd buy more cosmetic crates. That's just interest on our credits.
Crafting parts would unlock cards - but only if the level gate is met. Further, all that does is delay getting credits until the crates after you have bought every card.
What we need is to buy the cards that we could have bought before the new system put them behind level locks.
We could approximately get there if they let us buy levels, not just cards. It might not unlock every card we need, but it'd at least get to the heart of the matter, and would do so simply enough that they might go for it.
- 8 years ago
"We could approximately get there if they let us buy levels, not just cards."
Agreed, the level loss is the part that frustrates me the most; however, it is unrealistic to think they will have a magic wand to fix our issue for us specifically. Unless they have a way of isolating only the duplicate credits players, they will have to release a "global solution" like instead of just getting a skill point with your 40CP, you get a level, which comes with a skill point. That would be great but no way to code it for a subset of players, it would have to be available for everyone. It still doesn't remedy the overall issue because the CP we lost from not being able to buy crates probably far exceeds the CP we currently have. If we could buy levels with credits, that may help, but again, a global approach would have to be taken so now the people that have been building credits for the past couple of weeks would jump at the chance to dump them all in to level gains. There goes your "taster money" for the new cosmetics. I'm sure half the reason they are delaying the second half of the progression update is so that everyone has a pile of credits to spend on the cosmetics when they drop.
Only way for them to truly correct this issue, for us, is with a solution that ONLY targets us. While it could be done, it would take some industrious database mining, and some additional coding, probably not something a team manager is going to allocate resources towards. I truly hope that I'm wrong. But if I'm not, I would just like someone on the dev side to let us know.
Again, @EA_Atic, @EA_David @EA_Ataashi - Can any of you provide additional information? I know in the past I've complained that "We're working on it," was not an acceptable answer. In this instance, a "We're not working on it," if true, would at least give us resolution. It would be wrong, and a crappy way of ending this saga, but it would give us resolution.
Any of you want to be a rainbow in this dark post? 😃
