@EA_Atic : I tried it : basically , I completely erased the folder document and I launch the game , enabled dx12 and relaunched the game :
I was very happy cos during 1-2 min , fps was ok but after , the same fps drops : only 50-60 fps in 1080p with high end configuration : 2080 Ti@2ghz and 9900k@5ghz , instead of 144 fps in 1440p before update with dx12 !
a small information : when I launch the game with dx12 enabled : absolutely no problem in the menu : 144 fps constant : I play 1-2 min and massive fps drops , I returned to the menu and now 75 fps ??? it s very weird , I cant explain it.
I ve never had this behaviour previous update ☹️
what kind of configuration do u have ? a friend has exactly the same problem with an AMD RX5700 , so it s not an exclusive NVidia (or Amd) issue I think.
We need patch not deleting/fixing our computer.
Our frends have that same problem with different system spec.
After few updated (~7-8months) very strange things happen on this game.
indeed , really hope EA will fix it soon.
but it s very strange that s Atic didnt see the problem on his configuration.
I ve checked 5 compturers now with various config (AMD , Nvidia , Intel etc..) and ALL of them have the problem in dx12.

DICE Team
Hey @cyberfredcobra @Crithappenz_WoW
Thanks for the comments back and details, can I get a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you are using.
Also you said a friend is having the issue would be great if they posted in the topic also if you see anyone else having the issue, more examples always help and add a dxdiag to. 🙂

Sure, my dxdiag

Hello, I'm having the same issue. The FPS dropped significantly when in DX12, but it ran fine before the recent update. I noticed that highly reflective floor surfaces have an even bigger impact, and reduce the game to a slide show. I'm running at 4k with almost everything maxed. I've attached my dxdiag and here are my specs:
MSI MPG Z390
i9 9900k
EVGA RTX 2070
16gigs of RAM, DDR4 3200
Samsung 860 EVO SSD
Win 10 64 bit

hi guys ,
I m actually on a friends s computer with the same kind of behaviour with dx12.
I check memory video use and it seems DX12 uses huge video memory consumption.
on my friend s computer with gtx 1080 ti (win 10 uptodate and nvidia drivers 440.97) , 1920x1080 , scale res 150%
dx11 : 3 Go VRAM used after few minutes
dx12 : 10.9 Go VRAM used after few minutes !!!! The problem is here !!! the last update of swbf2 suffers huge Vram memory leak , that s why after few minutes , we have massive fps drops.
I really hope EA/Dice will fix it soon.

DirectX12 for Battlefront 2 still broken... new drivers from NVIDIA today... but this issue is definitely not driver related but introduced in the latest updated of Star Wars
- 6 years ago
You are absolutely correct. This was broken in the last BF2 update. I installed new drivers to try and fix it to no avail. These CLOWNS at EA/DICE pushed this update out knowing damn well what they were breaking. Either that or they are just lazy and incompetent and didn't test on a rig running DX12 which is just as absurd. Get your head out of your * EA/DICE.

New october patch didn`t change the situation with dx12 mode. Still the same thing happening. It is enough to launch any match, throw grenade and the game crushed back to desktop((((. At least tell us you working on this problem. PLEASE!!!

indeed , I confirm , I ve just come back at home , install the new patch and problem is the same , dx12 is till broken ☹️
60-70 fps with 2080 Ti in 1080p dx12....
Same here: i7 7800xx - RTX 2070 - 32GB Ram - SSDs - Win10.
Tried deleting the folder in documents...game FPS went up for a couple of minutes...still at 20-40FPS.
Before it was at 6-10 fps. GPU all the time at 100% (not overheating, water cooled)
I have the feeling, that RTX was somehow enabled...as mostly NVIDIA RTX Cards seem to have those DX12 problems recently.
Here is my dxdiag. Have been having the same problem since the update. Game works fine when dx12 is off. The moment I enable it I get FPS as low as 4fps
- 6 years ago
My 2080Ti does fine in Ultra, 1440p but tanks at around 8 FPS with DX12 on. DxDiag.txt attached.

Latest SWBF II update: No Cure after optimizing shaders...
DX11 (4GB VRAM) --> 60FPS capped
DX12 (8GB VRAM) --> stalls the GFX Card down to 1FPS within seconds
Did anyone try a fresh SWBF II install with an RTX Card?
Hey,
I just installed the game overnight (3700x, rtx2070super, 16GB Ram, nvme ssd, 1080p), and the problem still exist on DX12. Funny thing is, I only encounter the issue when I'm on an area where there's a lot of light/reflection going on. When I turn to a wall w/o any supposed RTX feature, 60 FPS constant (V-Sync enabled). So I think this kind of confirms the theory behind RTX making the engine crap itself. DxDiag attached. Oh, BFV works fine without any problem on PCMASTERRACE settings. O.o
Cheers

I don't have an RTX but playing the campaign on DX12 with 1070 was frustrating, kept being blocked by bugs. Then the mission over Naboo would be mostly black screen. Switched to DX11 to make it work. Still lots of other bugs like floating bodies and bodies that keep dying again and again. Shame cause otherwise the campaign is great.
Scary to see how many issues they have with that game years after launch.

I have a RTX 3080 FE and this game runs like absolute garbage on DX12.... As low as 1 to 2 FPS!! Wow what is going on EA? I may get a refund this is ridiculous.

DX12 mode is broken. Fix it!
AMD R7 3800X32 GB of DDR4 (3000 MHz)
NVidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super (driver is 456.71 WHQL)
SATA SSD
Absolutely unplayble (10fps or less) in 1080p
DX11 is fine (80+ fps in 4K res.).
Dude exactly the same for me, R7 3700X 16gb 2666, RTX 2070 and 2.5 inch ssd. Everything on ultra I get 70fps+ but DX12 Medium settings I get 10 fps? This issue has been around for ages its about time they fix it especially with the new gpu’s being released atm.
Also, all of my system memory including VRAM get put to 100% utilisation and my CPU is put around 50% with 8 or so threats being optimised. Gpu is set around 100% (As usual) and running 84 degrees celsius (As usual). Idk anyway I looking at getting a RTX 3070 and a 1TB M.2 SSD. I’ll look at 32GB ram if I decide to get it. I will release my results when I get said hardware and hope for the best.

YES. November 2020, just installed the 3080 EVGA XC3 ultra, overclocked, and 10 fps.
- 5 years ago@Lake333GLD I9 9900K WITH RTX3080 AND 32gb DDR4 AND THE FRAMES 20?????FIX IT QUICKLY PLEASE
- 5 years ago
I have the same build and same problems.
- MrNobodyWTB5 years agoRising Traveler
Pretty much same problems, even on a 3080 Tuf
Intel i7 10700
16GB DDR4 (3200@ 14-14-14-32)
Nvidia RTX 3080 (Asus Tuf OC)
NVMe m.2barely getting 30fps at 1080p, which is laughable frame rate for 1080p considering the card.
How does something break this bad without completely breaking?
