Emotes has no sound in Menu

Good find!

I'm on PC and also encounter this bug. So here is some more information.

How to reproduce:

1. Go to main menu, collection and select one of the characters displayed below.

2. Click once on the button 'emotes'. 

3. The menu page is correctly displayed, the animation of the hero acting the emote is correctly displayed, but the sound of the emote is not played. Only after selecting some other emote of that character and going back to the first one triggers the sound.

Facts:

-It happens on PC and Playstation 4

-Certain characters have this bug, some don't. See list below.

-Changing music settings (on-> off->continuous) doesn't effect this.

List of characters which the first emote doesn't play sound upon opening the emote menu of that characters.

-Boba fett

-Bossk

-Chewbacca

-Darth Vader

-Palpatine

-Iden

-Lando

-Maul

-Yoda 

-Finn

-Phasma

The ones that do work are Leia, Kylo, Han, Luke and Rey 

I will try if these match the ones that work with emotes in multiplayer matches.

I have tested it, and the characters from the list do not match the characters that can emote in game.

I am definitely not a developer, but I am just trying to help to get all these bugs out of the game 🙂

What I meant with 'matching' is that there are some characters in the game for which the emotes doesn't work (I saw people spoke about Iden and Lando), so I tried if the list above had the same characters that have problems emoting, but this wasn't the case. (Yodas emote do work for me, as well as those from Chewie)

This thread's subject is about the Collection screen emote previews that should play with sound when you select a hero's emotes to browse. Heroes not emoting is a separate issue and has a thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Heroes-not-Emoting/m-p/6710044#M11377 which said thread could use a bump reply. Your list is definitely not the same as you tested for which hero emotes work. That reminds me I gotta update my post on the thread I linked.

In writing my post with the characters that are bugged in the menu screen I remembered the bug with not-emoting characters. Bugs can definitely be related to each other, but it seems that this was not the case with this bug.

I will try emoting with characters myself and see which ones work and which ones don't. I will post that on your linked topic (when I have some time).

Sure, I just wanted to clear up if any confusion of these two bugs in relation to each other. It is definitely similar as they both relate to heroes and their emotes playing. By all means, you can test the list of heroes on the other thread and see for yourself why they don't work and which ones do or don't work normally. Should be true for all players who encounter that bug.

I hope I didn't come across as rude in any way. I've updated my post on that linked topic about confirmation I got from another player regarding Bossk and Boba Fett's emote slots. No rush, I just hope we can get the topic noticed and keep one thread for the same issue to bump into relevancy.

(There have been older threads before on the same issue, but none of them before have been noticed by EA/moderators, I think. Or at least a follow-up reply about looking into the issue further, yet.)

Hello fellow bug sufferers, I am making this post to organize our efforts in an attempt to finally get this bug fixed. I believe there are at least 40 posts similar to this one about the emotes not working via right d-pad and in some cases such as Leia and Iden both right and left d-pad. If we can get all of our knowledge and posts into one area, I believe we can finally get this resolved. below is a link to the new "central post" for this emotes issue.
