Empty lobbies and error 1066...every time.

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:PC
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug Lobby is 100% empty in every game, no matter what mode I am playing. I also get error 1066 frequently (never had this until a few days ago).
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? LarsusUlle
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? 7/14/2018
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM)
In what game mode did the bug occur? Galactic Assault
What is your time zone? PST - GMT - 8:00
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I open the game and connect to the Portland Oregon ping site (automatically). I start matchmaking for ANY game mode (not just Galactic Assault...but the form forced me to pick one).
What happens when the bug occurs? I join the game and the lobby is 100% empty except for myself. The lobby never populates, even after waiting upwards of 10 minutes. Alternatively, I wait for matchmaking only to be told that "we can't find any games for you" with an error 1066, which I have never seen before, until the given date (7/14).
What do you expect to see?
Please select your region North America
AMD or Nvidia Model Number

To reiterate what was put into the form above...

I open the game and can connect to the EA servers via my usual ping site of Portland Oregon. When I join a match in ANY game mode, the lobby is 100% empty. This happens every single time, no matter what. The only exception is that sometimes, less often, it boots me with an error code 1066 and says that "we could not find any games for you".

Here are the steps I have already taken to try and fix this...but with no success:

  • I have opened all ports on my router which EA recommends for this game.
  • I have flushed my DNS multiple times.
  • I have tried the temporary fix outlined on the forums of turning off my internet while in-game, then reconnecting to EA servers.
  • I have run a repair install.
  • I have switched ping sites multiple times. I was able to connect to ONE game while on the Virginia server but after that game, it immediately went back to empty lobbies.
  • I have yelled at my screen and threatened to destroy it.
  • I have cried in a corner.

Please, for the love of the $60 I spent on this game... HELP.

Got the same problem in australia on the ps4 platform even pretty much tried everything you’ve mentioned and nothing. I’ve searched everywhere for answers sounds like allot of people are in the same boat and not too many words from ea real disappointing
  • Same here. It worked up unitl a week or two ago. Now if I'm lucky i get in a game 1 in 10 attempts.

I connected support via live chat and they suggested resetting my network and internet settings as well as Internet Eplxorer options. It sounded rediculous and in the end it was. No other game I play has connectivity issues so this was a bust.

Please guys ... fix this. It is unacceptable and flat out outragous.

Is it really that hard to put in a server browser?

  • Ok guys ... I got it working. In a live chat with the EA support team the guy there suggested openening some ports that Battlefront uses.

And this solved the empty server connection issue for me. Before 9 in 10 games or even more connected me to empty lobbies and after I opened the ports and restarted the game I wasnt connected to one single empty server all day. See this list for which ports you have to open: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/#battlefront

    Hope it helps.

No, this doesn't solve the issue. In the OP, I state that opening ports was already tried. Sadly, none of the EA approved troubleshooting steps, as well as community suggested options seem to help. This is still an issue for myself and many others.

I am glad that at least you found a solution though... Just hope the rest of us can get so lucky soon.
