Hey, according to another forum post the issue is now fixed. I was having the exact same issue, but when I tried just now to download the game it worked! The other thread said it was a problem on Epic Games' part.

Hello, i cant connect my epic games account to origin, it shows that i need activation code, tried on another pc and laptop, used clean boot, cleared cache, same problem. Can u fix it please?
