Just started playing this past weekend, and I'm really enjoying the game. As a CoD and Planetside2 veteran, I've logged thousands of hours in on shooter games, but I've never had as much fun pew pewing other people as I have over the last couple days. As with all games of this type I gravitate towards the heavy class, as it's easier to play and generally more forgiving. You just can't go wrong with a personal force field and laser (or explosive) minigun. I also like the Specialist class but downright suck at it. My favorite class though, is Assault. More specifically, the Galactic Empire Assault class. The OG Stormtrooper. I'm even worse at Assault than I am with a Specialist but that doesn't stop me from mashing that A for Assault button every time I land on a GE team. I imagine all my fallen Stormtrooper bretheren looking down with great pride from up in Stormtrooper heaven as I rush valiantly into battle, spray laser bolts at enemies without coming close to hitting them, and being cut down by blaster fire, lightsaber, or pointy stick. Then respawn and do it again and again. I know I should just take a Heavy and actually contribute to the battle but I just can't help myself. Putting on that white armor and being more useless than a wig store in an Ewok village is my guilty pleasure. So what's everyone else got for a favorite class? Bonus points if you're awful at it.

Heavy with TL-50 (cooling and spread), improved grenade and personal shield, reduced recharge time. Felt like I could take on anyone with that setup. Until the rocket troopers and enforcers started spawning lol

@RogueZeroRendarHuh? Why do you think Rey is weak? The only scenario in HvH where I have a hard time as her is when being outnumbered because unlike pushy heroes or dashers like Maul she can't just bail out of combat like that. In infantry modes it's worth pure gold that she can vanish from the minimap.She's more a rogue/assassin type of character and can't be expected to just be played like Vader. Oh I wish the people that rage on me everytime would finally get it. Not my fault if they're oblivious to their environment.Also the nude mods make her easily the best hero of all time lol.Back to topic: My favourite class is the specialist, as I have explained in like 50 threads already 😉

It will change your life.And extra bonus tip - Specialist is the toughest class to play, which makes it the most enjoyable to master. Get upgraded to the NT-242 and go nuts.

Maybe Showdown can be put together here, but I rarely play that mode too, so it's better not to include it due to my lack of experience there. In HvV though, Rey is a weak character. The fact it's hard to have a hard time with Rey is due to her amazing survival skills, but that isn't enough to win games in many scenarios. Rey can handle herself, but can barely put any pressure on the enemy team. She can put pressure on one enemy or two at most, usually sabers as she has a harder time against blasters then all her fellow Jedi. So Rey falls under a category of support more then anything else. Sure she can tank relatively well (due to her stamina and not her HP+DR), she's mobile and can ambush, she has an unblockable AoE debuff ability, and she can knock down opponents for damage chains, but in all that she is subpar at best, and loses in each category to another ally. Add to that a small DPS overall due to her weak strikes and weak Dash Strike ability, and lack of combos or just skill links, while also considering her AoE ability is mediocre at best, and the better a player is the least effective this skill becomes, to the point it serves only the purpose of removing the enemy's ability to sprint and maybe make him do a wrong move in the 2 time windows when the ability starts and ends (which instantly revert controls and can be hard to predict). Last but not least, top it out with her total lack of ranged damaging abilities.There you have a mediocre hero at best. However, the support function kicks in because being average in many things, Rey can fill the gap in many situations, and her point farming abilities help her stay up in the scoreboard. And the best Rey can do is aggro the enemies, as she has amazing survival skills due to her agility and amazing stamina, so she gets the enemies to focus on trying to break her defenses while allies prepare to melt them. However this require somewhat good allies, or at least coordinated ones, which playing solo is rare AF. And enemies shouldn't all commit to a single enemy, especially if it's tanking them all very well.That's why I consider her a weak Hero. Every other Hero excel in something, Rey excels in the least important and exciting thing: Surviving, and she does that worse then Obi-Wan, so yeah...

@jwdrinkwaterjr It varies.

I find myself using the Assault a lot (highest leveled trooper class) due to the 4th gun (forgot what it’s called😂). Respectible range and damage on long-range makes it a winner. I run Toughen Up/Improved Grenade/HoK now all I need is good aim😂

The it’s Heavy when I need to defend a target (Detonite/Barrage/Supercharged) and Officer to be an officer (Disruptor/unlimited heat command/Bounty Hunter(?) yes I am one of those people😂).

Really, REALLY wanna pick up Specialist due to NT-242 - I am TRASH at sniping let alone hip-firing

I prefer the specialist. You can do extreme ranges really well, with the dreaded shield, brawler, stealth kit or the crazy good NT gun. Mid ranges work pretty well, too, with the A280 CFE.

Does anyone else remember when Specialists had 100 health points instead of 150?

@jwdrinkwaterjr Ok once you get the stealth card for specialist to max it allows you to 2 melee hit any of the base 4 infantry classes I think, and when you equip personal(bubble shield) if it is not destroyed the only way for you to damage the other player will be to 2 tap melee them. Get close+personal put on that shield and have fun smacking ur foes to death
