Even after the recent patch it is still happening. freeze frame now after the patch there is no black screen as it did before but still freezing sound is heard but still freezing causing the game to be really unbearable to play.
I was watching a Twitch feed yesterday where a guy on PS4 Pro had a frame freeze (which is less frequent on the PS4 Pro) and he was all like "what the hell was that?" -- to his luck there was no enemy around him (he was crossing a friendly player). Now, imagine his reaction EVERY FEW SECONDS -- that's what I have to endure to play this game right now. I honestly sometimes have to go back and play battlefront I (one) just so I don't feel like I have a piece of junk console (because the first game doesn't freeze at all). The worst is that I know that the problem isn't the console, but the GAME itself.
I did a load of testing yesterday using Heavy and switching off options such as:
- Kill Log
- Score Log
- Objective Outlines: always off
- Weapon Hints
- Tutorial
- Aim Assist
- HUD
This seems to reduce the number of freezes but there Is no one option that is causing the issue
I have been playing Battlefield 1 and Battlefront 1 on the same PS4 set up with no problems for a long time now
Frustrating that we are not hearing more from EA on this as it does ruin the gameplay and enjoyment
Just to be perfectly clear: I have put a standard PS4 and PS4 PRO side by side on the SAME TV, SAME INTERNET, SAME CONTROLLER and the FRAME FREEZE issue happens VERY FREQUENTLY on the standard PS4 while it RARELY happens on the PS4 PRO despite disabling all the available graphics options on the standard PS4 and leaving everything default on the PS4 PRO. While it still happens on the PS4 PRO, it is usually quicker and sometimes even hard to notice. All I can say is: if you are playing this game in a standard (non-pro) PS4 you are in GREAT AND UNFAIR DISADVANTAGE over those playing on PS4 PRO. This game is just not fun on a standard PS4 but playing on the PS4 PRO (without all the FRAME FREEZES) is definitely fun. If you have a standard PS4 with no plans to upgrade I would suggest calling and asking a refund, otherwise you'll likely continue to hate the game as it doesn't seem like EA cares enough to even acknowledge the problem, so I doubt they will fix this anytime soon (if ever at all).
