Frame stuttering and low fps

Hi, I just got Battlefront 2 yesterday and it really struggles in busy environments. In indoor areas, the game is fine and runs smoothly like 140 fps. In space it's fine too. 

But in outdoor areas i.e. the majority of the game, there is really bad lagging/stuttering. Doesn't feel like just low framerate, it's very stuttery. 

I have tried turning down the graphics options and disabling intensive options like shadows, ambient occlusion, enviro detail etc but doesn't improve the framerate. Even if i switch everything to lowest (default is Ultra), it is no better.

Are there any ways to fix this?

For reference i think my computer specs are -

i5-4670k

32gb RAM

GTX 1080

Drivers all updated.

    Is "Use DirectX 12" an option in the graphics menu? I am not 100% but I think that was on the menu and it was selected on NO.

    I will check after work but think I would have switched it back if the option was there since I was trying to use lowest settings.

    @treeroyCheck it just to be sure. Yeah, that is the setting. Turn it off if its On. Good luck! By the way there is a multiple reports on performance issues, including me, but it is worth to try, maybe it helps.

    Yeah, I can see on the forum that other people have similar issues. Hopefully if this isn't something I can fix, it gets patched soon! Sounds like this has not always been the case with the game?

    I think my computer should be good enough to cope with running the game smoothly. I'll have another look through the options tonight.
