Game audio mutes when joining friend

My game audio (Star Wars Battlefront 2) completely cuts out when I link up with a friend on Origin. I can hear him talk, no problem, but nothing else. I have no other audio programs, as suggested by a similar unresolved thread. Any ideas?

  • Sorry, it took a few days to find someone to try it with. It didn't fix it. The sound of everything else wasn't reduced by 80% before, it's reduced by 100%.

If I have a Discord call going when I connect on Origin in-game, it seems to cut even Discord audio. If Discord is completely off and I connect, I can at least chat, but still 0 sound from anything else in game. My gut feeling is that is being caused by something with Origin or the game, but I will test a different game soon if I can. I doubt this is the issue, but I will be able to try it with a new headset that's coming in on Monday.

  • In windows there is a setting that lets windows control conversation audio. Try turning it off. @Cheez_Mastah

I got a new headset, this time with an RF dongle vs the direct bluetooth connection from the other headset. THIS is what ended up solving my problem, for some reason.
