Game won't launch

Even though I played the game today, I can't open it now and it kicks me out of the game.

If the game was purchased thru Steam or Epic, there was a change a couple weeks ago such that EA app is now used instead of Origin. However, the method of starting is the same - i.e. start from Steam, if you purchased from Steam. FWIW - I got the game directly thru EA (Origin) and the game is starting fine.

Based on something I saw from @EA_Atic, below is a prioritized list of some things you might want to try.

Make sure all overlays are off (mainly for troubleshooting).

In EA app, select "App Recovery".

Reinstall SWBF2 and EA app:

Uninstall SWBF2 and EA app.

Remove any left over folders of EA app.

Reinstall SWBF2 from Steam/EPIC.

It should now install a new version of EA app.

Let me know if any of those work for you.

@C0untSuDooku Thank you so much. I had been trying to run the game for the past 8 hours.... I initially wanted to try mods and installed Frosty and for some reason the mods werent working and I ended up deleting frosty and the mod files... Only to not be able to launch the game anymore.... Who knew that the cause of the problem was also the solution.

I click launch on game, it says: "starting" then just stops. Nothing ever happens.
No mods, nothing.
Tried it on both of my gaming desktops with their own steam/EA games accounts, and even tried one on a different network. Same issue.
What's weird is the 2nd PC was working last night, but woke and now it's not. No one used it in between now and then.

I was having this problem and found a fix.
Open task manager and close all instances of the EA Game app. I closed 3 including "EA Background Service".

After doing this relaunch the game from Steam.
This worked for me. Game booted right up after EA reloaded.

Well I tried to uninstall Electronic Arts from the folder but it says that " The action can't be completed because the folder or file in it is open in another program." and I don't know how to close it
