Have ea give up on battlefront 2

Hi I'm wondering if u can help me this isn't so much a problem question more a developer question I've heard some worrying rumours that ea have actually given up on battlefront 2 because of the rocky start they had and that has resulted in a smaller team working on the game and this in turn has made it that when we get a update for the game this is the reason there is hardly anything in the update like the recent update for the solo season not much in it I was just wondering if it's true

  • Hello @mafiagmoney

I am in no way a developer, but it seems to me that a smaller team is working on the game right now than when they were producing the game last year. The amount of content that we received after launch is not that much, which would suggest that a smaller team is working on the game. These developers are probably working on other projects, such as Battlefield V.

Without a roadmap or any kind of confirmation that content is on the way, players like you and me are asking themselves if the game is still supported. We will probably get some more content for the game in the future, but hopefully, it is enough to make the players stick to the game.

On the other hand, they have announced that they will support this game for a long time, so we might see more content in the future, but nothing right now points towards that. We do not have any confirmation given. At a big event, such as EA play, they will probably announce stuff for the game. I sincerely hope they have a roadmap for the game, so players know what to expect.

  • I hate this whole situation. I've watched Andromeda die, and now the same thing is happening here. What's infuriating is that they still don't say anything, they don't even acknowledge that the game is unfinished, that the DLCs are worth little to nothing, and that they don't even have anything in store.

If it is indeed dead, then bloody say so, there is no point in prolonging this uncomfortable situation. If that moronic looking Battlefield V is the reason, then EA can congratulate themselves, they dropped a Star Wars title for a ridiculous Fortnite take on WW2.

Though I guess taking the lootboxes out of the picture took its toll on things aswell. The skins are here to replace them as an income for EA, yes - but they are so incredibly overpriced, I'd be surprised if people actually thought it is worth spending much real world currency on them.

The whole model of BF2 was based on lies, and we were the idiots who believed EA again.
