Haven't been able to play since the switch to EA app. Just a black screen

Haven't been able to play since the switch to EA app. It'll just either not startup at all, or flash a white bar and stay on a black screen. Why am I the only one with this issue? And yes i've tried literally everything to no avail. All I want to * do is play the game.

  • You are not the only one who has had issues launching the game.

I suggest you attach a DXDIAG report, so we can get an idea of what we're working with (assuming you're on PC).

In response to your statement, "i've tried literally everything", can you please include links to the other posts in this forum you've tried?

  • It's not my computer I know that for a fact. And by everything I mean, reinstalling, messing with the config, app recovery. Quite literally nothing works. The game had worked just fine after the switch to EA, but it quickly stopped working shortly after the switch.

    Famous last words. 😉

You need to ensure the game is using the dedicated GTX 2070. The DXDIAG report suggests it may be using the CPU graphics, which is not supported.

Additionally, you have multiple applications with issues, as shown in the Diagnostics section of the DXDIAG report.

Unfortunately, you have mods installed, so you will struggle getting additional support in this forum.

  • It is using the correct card(global settings are defaulted to the 2070). Also the mods I have are the ones i've had since I got the game on PC back in 2021. This crashing is a recent issue as of 5-6 months ago. Just kind of happened out of the blue if I recall. Even launching without them causes this crash. Is there a way I can reset BFII without reinstalling windows? Because ion doing that just to play this game.

Yes, you can uninstall/reinstall BFII. Your progress is saved in the cloud.

Unfortunately, mods can cause issues in different folders and registry entries on a Windows install, so a Windows reset may be in your future.
