You can dodge out of lightsaber strikes even after being hit (maybe not Kylo's Frenzy, but that's different), and you can ridiculously outplay melee heroes with ranged ones just by dodging-shooting-dodging etc. while throwing in some abilities. Also, the map layouts just need to be learned and used accordingly, I don't have a problem with that. Gaps are just as dangerous for a Force user.
Other than that, I mostly agree. The gamemode is simply dumb. I know that there would be balance issues if we had troopers, since heroes became easily killable even in 1on1 hero-trooper clashes, but just give slightly more health/armor in this mode, or damage penalty to the trooper classes.
Since I've completed every achievement/challenge that has to do with HvV, I don't ever plan to play it again, it literally offers no fun. Maybe if some new dlc hero challenge seems easier to achieve in HvV (as it was the case with Phasma's staff), I'll grind it there, but that's it. We could've had e.g. a CTF-type game mode instead of this. We started off with so few gamemodes as it is, it was kind of a luxury to make one of those such garbage.
The game mode is fine, people not protecting the target are just idiots. They want to get their 500 kills or whatever so they go run off like lemmings and die 50 times because THEY can. I've had games where I was solo vs 3 heroes, one the target, and my team was nowhere around. When I got back, they STILL weren't there. It's like killing the target would give them some sort of disease pinacilin can't cure. Not the modes fault, your teams fault. Go in with a friend and pair up, or play a support hero, usually 1 other will stay bearish to you.
TLDR: mode is fine, people are stupid, stop letting lightsabers stun you to death.

So interesting the different opinions. I really like the new HvV, compared to the old game. I get to be a hero 100% of the time, and none of the stupid timing out of round after round because people aren't playing the objectives. I like the pace of the game, and the targeting. If you get a team that cooperates by hanging out together, you can be unstoppable, especially if you are playing against a team that has no idea how to team play.

Agreed that it is more of a team mode. People that have been playing awhile have figured it out. Only thing that irks me is the spawn points are so far away from the battle. If everyone is playing as a team.and one person dies, the other team not has a HUGE advantage and can mop up the remainders. After spawn it is CRITICAL that you find your team before engaging in another battle.

@RockScorpion384 i can say that at least half of the blaster heroes are quite good, especially if you upgrade them. Han, Leia, Lando, Captain Phasma and Chewie can do wonders in an one-on-one scenario. Most of the blaster heroes are quite good in ambushing scenarios. Sadly, you will have to grind and craft a bit (assuming that you are unlucky enough and get no decent cards). But once your Star Cards are upgraded to the third level, things can be fun.
Also, the mode is truly for teamplaying. A proper team can wipe a less united one in no time. Take the past weekend. I was lucky enough to be in a team that would play together and cluster around the designated target in both defense and offense. Our enemy was spread on the whole map, even when they've grasped the fact that we've acted as a unit and not as separate entities. Our team had always 2 blaster heroes and 2 lightsaber heroes. The enemy team took whatever. I am not a stellar player, by no means. I am not even a mediocre player, as my eye-hand coordination isn't as it was many years ago. But, due to the incredible teamplay i was constantly in the top 5 players, the highest being the second position. So, a mix between a good team and decent star cards can allow a blaster hero to shine. I've got also in the situation where my team didn't played the objective and was scattered on the map, with me being the only fool that was even trying to play the objective. And dying a death of a thousand cuts, as the enemy team was a compact unit that would defend the designated target and attack the enemy targets.
I agree, that the squad system should have been better. And we should have a choice between light and dark when starting the game. We should be asked if we want to continue on the chosen side or switch. People shouldn't be able to leave without a penalty, if a game goes bad. I could bring some more ideas on the table, ideas that would might help to improve the behaviour in the game.
Don't get me wrong. I don't hate the game, but what hurts the most, is the potential. SWBF2 2017 had the potential to be an amazing game. Still has it. I guess that we will see what is next for us in the upcoming patch. Here's for some decent changes (some things, clearly , will remain, but i think that others can and may be improved)P.S.: in case that you wonder, i've played mostly blaster heroes (Leia/Lando/Phasma/Bossk with Kylo in the mix - not a big fan of the light side lightsaber heroes and Vader and Maul were always selected faster than i could, which left me with Ren, a dark side hero that it looks overpowered to me in the game)

Obviously the targeting system is a dumb mistake. Plus this mode is just filled with people who only play this mode and basically scares everyone out of it. Many people just stay away from it.
