High CPU usage at start of match (PC)

I have been experiencing a problem at the start of matches in BF2  where I get a lot of stuttering and frame drops to about 20.  This lasts about 5 minutes, and then it evens out and I'm playing again at 144+ frames.  When monitoring what's going on with my PC, my CPU usage is 95-100% (Frame drops) and after the 5 minutes it drops down to about 40-50% (144+ FPS).  My rig is more than powerful enough to handle this game and this game is the only one that I play that I experience this issue.
