Horrible sound after launching the game

I keep getting intermittent sound issues while playing Battlefront II. What usually happens is I will get to the music in the first loading animation (the one with logos) and that will play normally for a few seconds before all the sound becomes extremely 'fuzzy'/static-sounding and distorted. Sometime the sound randomly goes back to normal for up to a few hours, before becoming distorted again. I had sound issues as soon as I installed the game but they resolved themselves for a couple of days until this issue started. Already tried repairing the game, and moving it from D to C drive, but this hasnt changed a thing. Updating the Nvidia graphics card and performing a clean install of the sound drivers (based off the Nvidia launcher at least) didnt fix it either
