Hoth map glitch

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug During one Heroes versus villains match, one of the other team's heroes somehow managed to not die falling into the chasm that is on the Hoth map. It was annoying, as we couldn't kill that one particular hero (Yoda) without dying, and half our team rage quitted. Fortunately, we were able to make an epic comeback for the win! =D Another thing to note is that the player that was glitched either intentionally got stuck down there or did it by accident, as he was playing normally for the first few minutes of the match. I didn't notice the glitch until he was the target at the bottom of the chasm.
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? SargeanTravis
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? 05/06/18
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM)
In what game mode did the bug occur? Heroes vs. Villains
What is your time zone? ECT - GMT + 1:00
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know how Yoda was able to avoid being auto-killed for leaving map boundaries, but it must mean there's a glitch in the map somewhere.
What happens when the bug occurs? The hero (Yoda) fell to the bottom of the chasm without instantly dying, and was able to wander around and avoid getting killed (
What do you expect to see? For Yoda to be instantly killed by the boundary detection system.

AMD or Nvidia Model Number

Again, I didn't do the glitch myself nor do I know how it was done,(and if I knew, I wouldn't use it as sitting in the bottom of an empty cave for 15 minutes is not very fun) but it seemed either the perpetrator was either doing it independent of his team (his teammates played like nothing happened to their teammate) or just happened to get lucky and fall into the hole on Hoth purely by chance. I would also like to note that this is the only place I saw this glitch occur, not on any other map and/or game mode. Does anyone have any good explanations?

    Hey @SargeanTravis

Our specialists would like to take a closer look at this glitch, but it would be very helpful if you could take and post a screenshot of the location, where it happened 🙂

    Thanks in advance!

    @EA_Ataashi

I have a suggestion to the team and a possible explanation to this (of course not in code level).

This has problably something to do with immunity to damage. This survive the pit BUG usually triggers when you're forced into a pit by many different types of attacks or skills, or a combination of several of these together (as it constantly happens in HvV). The character simply takes no damage when falling, and then he is below the death barrier, and because of that he won't die.

Check this video to see it happening exactly like I described: https://youtu.be/BxhD1XmdRQs
(I know it's from an earlier patch, but the bug is still present and behaves equally)

My Suggestion: If there is indeed a state of immunity, it's natural that it'll revert back to normal whenever the character "recomposes", as he'll hit the floor of the pit and will stand up and reset to idle state, like it happened in the video provided. In this state he can't be immune to damage (or at least it isn't likely). So if the Death Barrier was extended lower, until touching the lowest point of the Abyss, eventually the player will take the lethal hit of the Death Barrier and will die. This may not solve why the character bypasses the death barrier, but it'll remove this bug from affecting the game and its players which is your goal after all.

I think Bespin is evidence to this approach. The Death Barrier on Bespin goes waaaay low until the streets below the clouds. I ventured there by a modification of the game to allow me to walk in the Out of Bounds area, and I could touch the street when I was way off from the actual stage, but when I moved closer I died, so it's a fact the Death Barrier goes down until street level at least. Now just check how many times someone survived the death barrier on bespin, and fell until the bottom of the level? None. It has never happened to me, it has never happened to someone playing with me.

I hope this helps, if not to solve the reason to the bug, at least to stop its effects from harming the game.
