Incompatible drivers :/
Hello. The problem is that my hardware or software (the problem cannot be diagnosed) does not allow me to install newer drivers for the Radeon RX 570 graphics card (this is a known problem on the forums for windows 7/10 and Radeon card owners, causes that after updating or installing new drivers at startup, the screen is black and windows do not start). In my case, I manage to install only the original drivers from the Asus RX 570 version 17.7. Two days ago, I bought the Battlefront II basic version. It works without problems on 17.7 drivers. Unfortunately, I updated the game and requires a minimum driver of version 18.5.1. , which I can't install: / Is it possible to run this game on a 17.7 driver since the basic game works on it?
After a few days of dealing with the problem, I solved it myself, by trial and error. Well, when the game requires a newer driver, just enter the registry and change one entry. Well, I have the 17.7 driver. I go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then SYSTEM then ControlSet001 then Control then Class and looking for an entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ Control \ Class \ {4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} then 0000 and RadeonSoftwarteVersionRadeonSoftwareVersion. Then rename 17.7 ( that was mine driver) on 18.5.1 ( required to start BF2) . Enter and Voila , You can Play the game 🙂 For me on win7 64 and radeon RX570 WORKS!BTW.
It is sick to run the game on the same engine from 2017 you need to have new drivers and in fact the game works on old ones. I understand performance improvement issues, but why the hell does the game need new drivers? Shame EA / Dice ... shame.
