Input Lag on PS4, especially in Starfighter Assault

I am pretty new to Playstation 4, so this might be a dumb question. But here goes:

While playing Starfighter Assault with my GF in Arcade I noticed that something felt off in comparison to the PC-Controls. At first I thought I just hadn't adjusted the controls to those I am familiar with, but no matter what I did with the "Response-curve" and the "Deadzone" options, it still felt weird.

And then I noticed that, especially (or just especially prominent) while turning/controlling the starfighter (aka using the two sticks), the input seemed to be delayed. E.g. If I wanted to dodge an obstacle in last second I often crashed since the game seemed to notice my input to late. Or while turning around I overshot because I held the stick for too long.

The delay was always the same and only a few milliseconds, but still annoying.

So my question is: Where does this delay come from? Is it just a typical delay for wireless controllers? Or is it the game's "fault"?

If you're pretty new to console gaming, then controls on PS4 might at first feel slightly weird to you.

I'm a PS4 and PC owner and for me there's always been a small input delay when it comes to playing with a PS4 pad. There are some great games that I play on both platforms and the difference between PC and console controls can be huge, but it's nothing that I couldn't get used to eventually 😉

It's hard for me to tell if you might have an actual problem with input lag in SWB2 now or you just need more time to adjust 🤭 I suggest playing a bit more on PS4 or try different games if you have a chance to see if your sentiment towards the controls won't change.
