They also don't care about Phasma's sentry either. I was playing Instant Action as the Resistance and wondered why no one seemed to be taking A even though it is close to the default spawn. I went to investigate and watched probably five AI soldiers just except their fate and get mowed down by the sentry. I don't even no where Phasma was. She just placed the turret at A and let it single handedly fend off the entire Resistance. Even Finn didn't care about it. I unfortunately only recorded a little piece, but I assure you, it had been going on for quite some time.
They probably just need to make the AI view the sentry and turrets as an enemy instead of whatever they do currently. Whatever makes them shoot things just needs to be applied for these turrets.
