Invalid license. Reason Code = Invalid Cipher (0x0006)"‎

I have had a lot of trouble with Battlefront II not launching. When I launch the game, it says "Sorry an error ocurred. Invalid license. Reason Code = Invalid Cipher (0x0006)". This happened out of nowhere. Nothing was downloaded, nor did anything crash. In fact I had been playing perfectly fine up until a month or so ago. I have "Repaired/Fixed" the game in Origin, but nothing worked. I have been in contact with EA and here are the ideas that both technical support and myself have tried with none of them working, so they directed me here.

* Uninstalled Battlefront II then Reinstalled

* Uninstalled both Origin and EA Beta Launcher and only reinstalled Origin (side note: EA Beta did work several months ago)

* Checked for Malware/Viruses

* EA told me to do the following: "Please follow these steps as mentioned in the given order: Completely log out and close down Origin Hold down the Windows key and R Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK Now open the Origin folder. Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one) Hold down the Windows key and R

Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window Open the Local folder here Delete the Origin folder listed here Restart your PC and log back into Origin

* Was told by another EA advisor to "download latest Graphics Drivers, insure I am running the latest version of Origin.

* Was told by another EA advisor to Repair/Fix Battlefront II in Origin.

*Was told by another EA advisor to insure my internet connection wasn't a problem, and my internet connection is currently good. My current download speed is: 166.89 Mbps. Upload speed: 94.22 Mbps

*Was told by another EA advisor  “Please try to change the game properties and let me know if it works.” However, nothing in my game properties seemed to be effecting anything.

*Was told by another EA advisor to "Clean Boot my PC using an EA article. However that didn't work, and I attempted it twice.

If anyone has any ideas of what I could do, I will be your best friend.

Would a hard pc wipe and reinstalling stuff fix this? Or is the only option left to make a new Origin account and rebuy Battlefront 2?

Thank you for your time!

Sadly it hasn't gone well.  I contacted them again, and tried a laundry list of ideas including creating a local account on my computer and launching it from a different account and running a compatability test to which neither worked, .  I am going to try and make a new account and rebuy the game and see if it launches. Then if it does, I'll refund the game. That way I know if it's on my account or computer.

I know this is way late but I just had the issue and solved it so I'll post what worked for me here:

    1. Close steam (or epic games). Make sure it's not just hidden to your system tray.
    2. Click the 3 lines in the top left of the EA app -> Help -> App Recovery -> Clear Cache
    3. Repair the game files (Manage -> Repair)
    4. Close the EA App when game Repair is complete (again, make sure it's actually closed)
    5. Press win + R and type: appwiz.cpl
    6. Press enter
    7. Find "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64)" -> right click -> change -> repair (at this point, do the same thing for the x86 version too)
    8. Restart PC
    9. Run the game executable or desktop shortcut

    Hope this helps
