Is Yavin 4 (Supremacy) imbalanced by design?
I'm a relatively new player - started playing 2-3 months ago.
Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to give the Empire such a superior roster?
Empire gets:
- TWO AT-STs
- Much superior reinforcements - the ISB Agent and Death Trooper far outclass the Wookie and Ewok
Resistance:
- AT-RT (lol)
On top of that, one of the most effective weapons to take down AT-STs, the Ion Torpedo, is locked behind a card, which most new players are unlikely to have.
As a result, most games of Yavin 4 are losses for the Resistance.
I'm certain that EA has winrate stats that show this problem.
Even just limiting ONE AT-ST and / or increasing their Battle Score cost would help a lot. Literally two variables to achieve a much better balance.
This is also an issue on other maps - Scarif, Tattoine - but I think Yavin 4 is the worst offender.
What the hell?
I would understand if there was a deliberate decision to make this imbalanced to recreate some underdog experience... but, as a player, I normally expect designers to do their best to balance a multiplayer experience.
